According to Twitter, looks like all eight new Illini are in town! All of our OH/MB crew except Averie hover around 6’3-6’5”. We got some trees! I’m even more excited about the under 6’0” additions. I have high hopes for decent passing.

We've got a dab, y'all!!!
Some wise, possibly prescient fan recently anticipated this possible timing following this weekend's elite camps at Huff... ; )
Does anyone know who else we are targeting for 2026’s? Illinois is hosting another round of their elite camps at Huff next weekend, which might be a catalyst for offers and commitments! I'll be keeping an ear to the ground after that weekend for movement on the commitment front; and by that I mean that I'll be monitoring VolleyTalk and Twitter : ) [takes victory sip]

I've got Maya added to our roster in the first post of this thread with her name linked to her SportsRecruits page.
*Looks like Maya plays up a year on Munciana's 17 team.

Munciana is a top club program. We are going from talls to smalls in 2025/2026. But I will take a smaller outside that has hops and a quick arm. We got beat up the last two years by some smaller, quicker OH’s. Hopefully we can run a quicker offense in the next two years to accommodate these OH’s

I've enjoyed watching Maya's SportsRecruits footage this afternoon. She's got a live arm with some good shot range- tools the block, nice line shot, some placement tips. Hits a lot of rips, looks confident at opposite, too.
I really like both our 2026 Hoosier State outside hitters. Confident, aggressive attackers that can put some pop on the ball. And I think Sophi Randall sets a fairly flat quick ball to the left side- I've enjoyed following her recent footage, too. Excited for 2025 and 2026!

Here's our current forecast depth chart for Fall 2026:
- Setters - 3
- DS/L - 4
- Pins - 6
- MB - 4
- (total) - 17
Earlier today a thread was created saying that in 2025/26 the roster limit will be 18 players, so it looks like we would have one space left for 2026; should we be hoping for a middle next or is it wise to hold off on recruiting another 2026 right now?

Agreed - she appears to have a nice arm with good range. Go Illini!

The 2025 and 2026 classes now have 4 pins and only one middle and one ds. I almost can’t believe I’m saying this, but the staff needs to start recruiting middles!

She can play and she is playing up in club for a big team such as munciana and is really looking like a steady player for them. Her ball control is great and she is steady. A shorter OH but I'm liking the transition this Illini coaching staff is going for. Illinois is known for taller/less athletic players. I like how we are going for players that can play all around. Maya is also jump serving which is quite impressive for being 16

I almost can’t believe I’m saying this, but the staff needs to start recruiting middles! 2026 we have Bohm, Dean Philipot & Pitcel. We need to snag a middle to shore up the middle the year after. We don't want to get caught in an injury situation or get a freshman in to start training to take over in a year. Philipot is going to have a lot of responsibility this upcoming season.
