Interview with Temi in the after match.
White Had to play long game in the 1st set. Miami played really good D. Did 50:50 on Lopez, slow to begin but she did well later. GG had one of her best matches this year. Passers did really good job against the top spins. Prep for PSU: Expects both teams will be fired up. Lot's of upper classman for PSU. UW left something on the floor last match. Are they deliberately setting Franklin more out of the back row? Not clear if move away from BR attack is due to Smrek and TTAs recent success, but they haven't deliberately gone against it. Do they plan for digs off the board? Yes. It's one of the two situations they talk about.

The Big Ten quadrant next week. Three schools already in the Big Ten, and one of the schools being added to the Big Ten next year.

wish we had a stat on smrek on the gap ball. feels like she's hitting .800 on it this season and i'd love to know if that's true Probably not, Booth is hitting about .400 on 3-balls. Personally, i think Smrek hits better when they just put it high in front of her right shoulder.

Smrek and TTA obliterated the Miami block. GG's best game as a Badger. Although its easier to read when so many back row attacks. MJ has separated from Izzy in performance. Maybe Dev being less then full health has played a decent part. I hope MJ can ultimately stay one more year and we run one more season of 6-2. She won’t. Charlie is in the same vein as Carlini and Hilley, I’m not sure you want to take her off the floor Carlini didn't have a supporting cast Hilley did or Fuehrbringwr will have. But out of the gate Charlie will have to adust to the speed of NCAA game. MJ performance wise would be a big asset to stay and allow Charlie to acclimate and in turn excel.

After watching Charlie lead the U19 team to gold in the Pan Am games, I really think she can walk in and handle all the setting duties next year.

The Smrek-Franklin express rolls on. Also GG with 16!!! digs tonight dbro1970 GG leading the team in digs playing 3 rotations. Orzol had 14 digs. I think she had four on four straight points in the middle of the third set. Correct. GG with 16, Orzol with 14, Hammill with 12. No one else with more than 5. By the way- Franklin with a pedestrian 13 - 1 - 42...... .286.

Kinda my thinking, I’m not sure people realize how good she is. Also, IMO California prep ball and club ball is better than just about everywhere else.

I think they realize that Wisconsin is one of those programs where they’re easily able to bring in someone really good that could take their playing time. I hope everyone realizes that Kelly Sheffield is incentivized contractually to win games and go deep in the tourney. He’d love to play everyone, but he can’t. IMO, Crawford might be the odd one out of that group. If Wrobel is hurt/done with volleyball next year, and no one transfers in, I can imagine Robinson playing on the left pin. She could learn to pass if she hits the sand courts over the summer, or just play 3 rotations across the front row. And that’s where Charlie’s skill comes into play, pushing a really good ball all the way out there, very quick.

I'm a CC fan so don't know if I agree about her being first out but I think there's a chance you're right about Robinson on the left pin. I don't think she could become a primary passer, but TTA isn't and we make that work pretty well. If we stay in the 6-2 (which I'm under the impression we won't, but doing the hypothetical) I think that's a very real option.

You can play Robinson as “L2”, where she’s pushed out of the passing for all three rotations, or for just the 2 when the opposite goes to the back row.. Unless you want to pass with 2 (I wouldn’t want to do that for a whole season), really the only way this is possible is with a 5-1

A lot of 'tea' to consume this coming off-season. Until then, though- we've got some real prime competition coming to town this next week.

And today, December 1, was the official end of the 2023 Miami Hurricanes’ Season. Yesterday was also the 4 year anniversary of when a certain man in Wuhan, China began feeling ill,... with one of the ( far) less horrific results being the creation of NCAA's 5-year eligibility.
