Minnesota should find a way to pick up the Fresno State libero. Dinkytown and Fresno both had shootings in the past couple days; she would feel right at home.

I would personally prefer to grab a Middle from the portal and keep Grote on the right. She does well there. But I’m also not the coach lol

I know her sister plays middle but the more I tried to look into stats it doesn't appear she played that position that much. I saw she was listed as a Middle Blocker on their roster. She probably was recruited for MB and they must have had her play OPP. IDK I just found the statement interesting when I read she played MB while at CAL.

Woah I didn’t know that. It does look like Grote played MB in her first 2 years at Cal and then moved to Opp in 2022. Now that explains why she was able to run that slide.

As far as transfers in for next season, assuming nobody leaves the program and no surprise change of commitments... I'd anticipate finding 1-2 middles to start, and a libero/DS. Of these, grad/covid year transfers (if any are there) would be the best choices as the class coming in 2025 should hopefully be able to supplement those areas of need when they come in.

Just how many scholarships do you think Minnesota has available? LOL.

Ah I hope that Julia Hanson isn't leaving the team but best of luck to her if she does! Many teams will be lucky to have her.

why would she want to spend a season living the Minnesota middle life? Wouldn’t be a messy thread without you being involved for no reason except because you felt like it.

I don't think any harm was intended, I mean it's a known fact that Minnesota doesn't set their middles that often, so why would you want to move from being a productive opposite to just jumping up and down a lot? (No shade intended)

(No shade intended) If she wanted to play middle but moved to RS because that's where Cal needed her then she could give it a chance next year at Minnesota. Especially if she wanted to play middle professionally after college. Doesn't seem likely. What is nice is having someone who can slide over to the middle position if one of Minnesota's two middles is injured or struggling. The Gophers have no depth at middle with the graduation of Awoleye.
