Per Kristen Kelsay’s Instagram, looks like she just purchased an apartment/condo in Northeast.
I would hope that’s an indicator that she’s planning on staying a bit… which would be great. She’s been such a great recruiter and coach and I know the players absolutely love her.

there are a number of videos of our Alex A. Had me wondering if she has extensively studied Kathryn Plummer's arm swing To me, it's unusually compact, particularly when hitting xcourt, elbow less extended, and has quite a punch. When she does reach and her elbow is more extended she exhibits less punch i should go back and watch at .25 real time. she is evidently producing power from her elbow angle. disclosure: i'm not a coach, just a fan. maybe i'm all wet, seeing something unusual and unable to effectively analyze it. another note: I've been graced with frequent offerings from Joe Trinsey's Smarter Volleythis one, focused on serve reception was particularly germane given last year's passing woes: DBU - GBI smartervolley.substack.com/p/dbu-gbi?utm_campaign=email-post&r=9koyb&utm_source=substack&utm_medium=emaildon't back up - get behind it. hopefully it's not behind a paywall. he has also been mentioning "Balltime" and a demo of passing trajectories which this app can chart is a fabulous teaching tool. smartervolley.substack.com/p/location-and-trajectory

I smile every time I watch her swing and wince every time I watch her land. The landing on one foot? There’s a chance Ulmer already dealt with that. Definitely can at best lead to knee strain or at worst a freaky injury. IIRC Wenaas had the same habit in her prep career and Hugh addressed it. Might have been someone else, but I remember it being brought up in the Gopher thread. It doesn’t seem like the hardest mechanic to fix, but I could be wrong. What leads players to do it? Trying to engage the core for more power by hiking up the right knee?

The above is someone's recruitment rank. The rich get richer But I'm very happy with a number 5.

Pretty sure Hanson used to do the same thing, but I didn't take notice last year. It's not the best way to land and like you said, could lead to a freaky injury.

Yeah I don’t think we’re getting the non-con schedule before B1G schedule like we did last year. At this point they’re probably just waiting to make one graphic lol
Today’s post gave me my reading topic for today’s lunch break though. Academic progress rates. Fascinating stuff!

I’m not worried about losing top MN recruits to Nebraska, or anyone really. Strong history and culture, also hasn’t really happened besides Hilley, and that was because we had SSS. Sam, Wilhite, Tapps, Lohman, Goehner all had other offers and stayed. I recall Jordan Thompson playing for Mpls Southwest and transferring to Edina, then playing for Northern Lights. Does anyone know the story about how she ended up playing for a mediocre Cincinnati team in the weak American Athletic Conference instead of the Gophers/Big Ten?

She started playing in 8th grade I think; in an era of players announcing their verbal commitments as freshmen (some even earlier.) I think Tinglehoff was a big reason Jordan considered Cincinnati (club mates) and she enjoyed going into college with some familiarity in that regard; someone close to experience it with. JT always seemed to lack a little bit of confidence before college to me, considering the potential she had.

The level of absurdity of having to view a scrambled photo on UWGB's Twitter page to get an idea of the non-conference schedule is almost too much for me.

I need excuses to go over there to keep chipping away at the Ice Age Trail on that part of the state. Will be looking forward to see which date it is and if it's really MN.
