This one is a head scratcher. 90% chance the above poster was correct, it'll be a mid-week exhibition match on their way out to Milwaukee to get their feet wet before the Stanford match. An exhibition sounds like a good plan. đź‘Ť |

I don't think the timing match up though. The post said that it will be sometime in September and that Texas/Stanford matches are on September 1st and 2nd. |

Whether it’ll actually help out MN’s RPI or not, it’s nice seeing them play against other teams different from what we’ve seen the past few years. A breath of fresh air! Excited for this 2024 season!!

A 3 cupcake weekend in the non-conference is a new look for the Gophers after the last few years. That said, while many people around here are fans of trying to pad the RPI, I think there's tremendous value in a few easier matches (especially in situations like this where you can schedule 3 matches instead of two). |

First thoughts…
Not sure I like the (probable) RPI dings. I like playing St Thomas, but it’s not to the point where this can be a crosstown rivalry.
I had hopes that we’d be able to schedule our (non-VB) trip to Hawaii around the VB matches at UCLA and USC, but… not unless it’s a really quick vacay, or we skip Indiana/Maryland.

Still a TBD for the 2nd Diet Coke Classic team, hoping they get a decent team for that one.
Pre-conference SOS will definitely be a lot easier than the past couple seasons.
