what were NDSU's, St Thomas', Green Bay's, and Chicago State's RPI's last season? I'm torn about this cupcake weekend. Our schedule is already packed as far as RPI goes, and it might actually be nice for the girls to have a couple matches to get their feet under them. But it will probably make that Wisconsin match the first weekend of B1G play an extra shock NDSU- 179, St Thomas- 295, Green Bay- 182, Chicago State- 163 oof. and thank you!!

While I agree on some easier matches, I'm afraid NDSU and St Thomas are RPI busters. Oh well, it is what it is. Glad the schedule is out! Looking forward to seeing this group together! what were NDSU's, St Thomas', Green Bay's, and Chicago State's RPI's last season? I'm torn about this cupcake weekend. also whats with the TBD for the other diet coke classic match? Presumably, still waiting for a "yes" from the TBD visiting team.

I like the schedule - unless we take a loss to the teams we shouldn't. lol With the additional BIG teams the schedule is packed with RPI boosters so there's more room to relax a little in the non conference and have the kids settle in.

That’s brutal - I don’t like these matches at all.

From what I have seen so far, most B1G schools (e.g., NE and Purdue) are going for a "softer" non-con schedules which makes sense given the additional B1G schools that are RPI boosters. I know we were so used to that brutal aggressive non-con schedules in the past but I like the balance for this year.

Looking at RPI potential the Median final 2023 RPI of the Gophers opponents is 67.
They should qualify for the scheduling bonus with 5 of the 9 current non-conference teams likely to be in the top 75.
For the DCC TBD team it would be good to schedule someone like Drake (23-10, #41 RPI or Wichita State (21-8 #59). Western Michigan would be a real great get (31-3, #27). Of course not knowing how well those teams will do this season is the catch.
Oh and UNI (26-7, #31) not an exhibition would be great too.

As for not knowing how teams might look from year to year… Auburn had a final RPI of 33 last year, but I don’t have a good sense of how they’ll look next year. Crouch got Auburn to the NCAA tourney the last two years (2nd and 3rd time for the program EVER), but he catches a lot of criticism on this board AND lost some of his best players to the portal so idk. Hoping they don’t flop for their sake and ours lol

As for Auburn, two years ago they had an exciting 1st year class of seven girls and now three girls, all starters, have left.

I haven't looked at all the Big 10 schools, but I would not call the Nebraska and Purdue (and Wisconsin) non-conference schedules "softer." I'd say Nebraska and Wisconsin went with a more difficult non-conference this year, and Purdue about the same as last year.

This schedule can easily get a top four seed. All we have to do is beat Texas, Wis, Neb and Stanford. Even if we lose all of them we can get into the tournament. However if we cannot win some of those games, we will be fodder just like we were last year.

If you need a total cupcake to thrash like okay UST thats fine (roll toms) but Chicago State? UND? Who even looked at that Green Bay weekend?
Hoping our tbd is someone like Marquette, Utah State, maybe High Point, a competitive match in which we would still be favored. Not a ton to attract fans for the only home noncon action otherwise
