Acevedo needs to work on her hitting mechanics. Sloppy and inefficient. Limits her power and location options.

Acevedo needs to work on her hitting mechanics. Sloppy and inefficient. Limits her power and location options. I’m not sure if that’s the right terminology but set location is huge and so far only Hanson and Grote have chemistry with Shaff. Looking forward to have Stella take the lead. Acevedo had to step in big games vs Wisconsin and Purdue with major blockers in her face . Those were her first 2 Big10 college matches. I’d like to see her more now that she’s been with the team for 3 months.

Okay we need a little extra juice for Mimi and the Ducks matchup because our two best wins of the season haven't aged all that well. Specifically Texas, though I expected badgers to be more competitive with Nebraska on their home floor too

Need Auburn and now Michigan to hang onto T50 status.

IMO Hanson has a ridiculous elevation and Grote swings hard at just about every set to her. For these reasons they appear to have a better connection with Shaff. Also, they both are able to adjust successfully to her sets throughout a match.
I know this team has great Team Chemistry but I don't feel they necessarily have the right players who can complement another's weakness. Development is different for every player but right now we have at least a couple players whose game play has headed in the wrong direction.
Today we won another road match which we were expected to...but again it just wasn't easy for us.

They're on the up. I'm pleased with the results from this weekend. We were mostly steady and pulled away when needed.

Today's match made it the first time Wucherer had 4 matches in a row hitting over .200 since her first 6 matches as a Gopher in 2022. I don't intend for that to be a backhanded compliment. No, it's not happening against the top teams in the conference, but I just think she's been pretty steady all around recently and hope it continues. Happy for her

Next week will be a good test against Washington and Oregon.
I'm really glad we're playing them at home.

Happy Minnesota is taking care of business on the road! I hope the small improvements I think I'm seeing in the passing game make a big difference this up coming week against Washington and Oregon. Go Gophers.

Next week will be a good test against Washington and Oregon. I'm really glad we're playing them at home. Same! So glad. Massey gives the Gophers 45% win probability at home against Oregon but it would be only 24% on the road. I hope the Pav is extra loud for that one but tbh also for Washington who is dangerous even if Barton doesn't play. I doubt the Huskies have any serious beef with Keegan for looking for a different job, but if I were them I'd be extra hungry for a win.

Been thinking about the drop of Palabiyik from the start of the season to now. She seems to have been out of position a lot lately, and her numbers have dropped a good bit as well. Can’t remember which game but she had a seemingly low number of digs I almost thought the stats were wrong. Any thoughts/studies on this?
