Well…we cannot just leave the scholarships unused. If nobody stands out, I would like to see Robyn get some grad transfers for just one year just to provide some maturity or leadership to this young team. Even if those players are not someone that will contend for starting spots, they could help in the practice gyms and on the sideline. Then open up those scholarships for 2025. We only have one senior and possibly 6 freshmen(if Chalei enrolls early). Or Tayli gets a scholie Is it 12 scholarships for Women? And is there somewhere that shows who has/doesn't have?

I forget, what is Leyva’s scholarship situation? I would imagine she’s also not on one? Not sure what the count is with no Paula and Lang NIL.

What about this latest development? x.com/tp4pt/status/1796321634254807437?s=46&t=LeNZv5DS_2YG-qQEuJoR8QWould someone like Riley Wagoner fall into this category? The BW did cancel the volleyball season that year so guys like Riley and Kate would be eligible for the extra year. I know there was a Covid year granted but this is another year. I don’t see most schools being able to take advantage of this new rule because most conferences still played their sports but the BW cancelled soccer and Women volleyball that season so anyone who is a senior or graduating senior this year should be eligible for one more year. Wagoner at libero for her last season?

They need to have another session for the portal to be open I’m not sure there are a big number of players that would be eligible so maybe not such a big deal. You have the Ivy League and the BW.(who cancelled fall sports that year). Not sure how many other conferences cancelled their sports season. There could be certain number of players that had covid and lost their season but I’m not seeing it being really large. Kate, Amber, Riley, Braelyn Akana and Tiffany Westerberg are some that come to mind. Brae has been out of school for two years. Tiff is a mom. Amber is playing pro so that leaves Kate and Riley as the only players that can take advantage of this rule. Oh wait….Kendra Ham too. She was at Cal Poly and they lost their season also so Hammy….you’re in luck…LOL

With the portal lacking any help, maybe Ah Mow can give Wags a ring and ask if she wants another year of NCAA volleyball….with scholarship money.
Wags could take one and one for Chalei.

Wagoner at libero for her last season? I believe the COVID year and the Big West cancelling it in the same year would equal just 1 year. I think this is granting an extra year outside of COVID for any reason of being ineligible. I don’t think a player can get a Covid year and this as an additional year because it would be for the same season…

Rules not clear so I dunno. The thing is everybody got a covid year….including those who played during that year. The BW canceled their fall season so the fall athletes that year did not get to play that year so they did not get the same treatment like everyone else. The PAC 12, for example, played that season and athletes also were granted a Covid year. I know the word used is “declared ineligible”. The UH players were not declared ineligible but the conference denied a year of playing for these fall athletes and I would think the NCAA would lump that into the same thing. It was beyond the control of the S.A. that season to do anything else. They could not transfer. They lost a year while the other P5 conferences went ahead and played their schedules. We shall see what will come of this. I don’t think this ruling will have a big impact overall but it could be beneficial for small programs like UH in helping SA who want to maximize their college experience. Many may not be fond of spending one more year of college but whatever….LOL.

A bit late for them to announce this!!!
Avecido to Wisconsin after all. It goes to show, what whatever your initial reasons may have been to transferring, it's hard to resist the allure of the big name schools.

I'm a little surprised we haven't heard a peep about any transfers. The season starts in only a couple of months and we haven't heard a thing. Maybe Robyn and staff have no one coming in?
