seems like she bought in to the coaching and is wanting to be the next libero. nice to see after some one and done, there's more stability in that position. she's also so polished as an interviewee! i really hope that mili adrianna victoria and madi can make it to the end together. given recent history, at least one will transfer...

I'm still gonna ride thar coaching staff. Everyone going after them and rightfully so especially with the Davis loss. But for the record....sistah Mary some of you guys despise ain't going not a damn where. Lol She is the 2nd most successful current UH head coach in that entire athletic dept. So unless they start putting up multiple years of missing the tournament....it ain't happening anytime soon. Go Bows! Period.

Yes, cry more and enable whinefan’s b*tch*ssness everyone!
I’m sure that will really motivate the team to play hard and improve for the fanbase that loves them so much!
I swear some of you oinkers are probably ready to right more letters like last season.

I love how wahinefan ‘s predictions about coaching and team health are coming to fruitation. 🎯 Now everyone wants to have an open discussion about staffing lol 💅 Right on wahinefan and raian13 …. 😂 Exactly, if only we had hired a Dan Fisher.. a coach that can actually communicate with his players.. Robyn is better suited as an assistant coach! 😂 It’s nothing wrong with entertaining wahinefan. Some of y’all get so twisted over him that it makes me laugh.

Kate Lang did an interview with Howard Dashefsky on Sports People Hawaii, but you gotta sign in to your TV provider. Either Spectrum or Hawaiian TelCom I think. oc16.tv/watch/video/6TWuu7JRuEQ_

Unlike other sports, I don't think we have a lot of rich volleyball boosters who can threaten to with hold donations to the AD if the coach is fired. I agree it's just not going to happen.
If you look at the AVCA Top 25, it's almost all P4 schools right now. Creighton (Big East) is probably closer to being P4 than most of the Western Conferences.
I also agree that this season was lost in the off-season when we couldn't get any replacement recruits for the people we were losing. But there's no point in arguing that again right now. We're in the middle of the season and I think all we can do is cheer/hope the girls improve at this point. We can litigate this again in the off-season/next recruiting period.

Robyn isn't the one getting blocked, hitting the ball out, serving the ball out, or playing Benny Hill volleyball at times so the people blaming Robyn are dumb. And if I don't like what people say, I can always ban them, lmao.

And if I don't like what people say, I can always ban them, lmao. I just think it’s wild that people are so oblivious to the ins and outs it takes to running a successful program. At the end of the day, coaches can prepare but players NEED to execute, and I really think fans need to understand that outside maybe a University in Alaska, committing to and moving to Hawaii is the biggest change of life that a mainland recruit can experience. It’s not for the faint of heart or for wishy washy players and I can see the program not wanting to invest in anyone wishy washy. Nebraska is having a solid season with only 14 on the roster, only thing is, the caliber of that 14 is incredible. However they have literally zero depth at opposite and don’t do even remotely comparable amounts of getting non regular starters on the floor. Unfortunately for Hawaii, their depth is in all the positions they don’t need it as desperately. Setter, Libero, and Middle are mostly locks. But the pin depth is definitely hurting right now because Hakas is not Merrit Beason and Stella is not Harper Murray. Anyone who knows this game understands that multiple pin production has a lot to do with how your offense works to win you games. Right now it’s the Caylen Show without a quality supporting cast. As others have said, it is what it is. That’s not on the coaching staff, you can’t force recruits into Hawaii and no one here has a first hand account of how the staff recruits.

The ONLY thing I can put on the coaching staff is recruiting. They cant force recruits, but ive spoken to multiple club coaches/connected people, and they all say the Hawaii staff needs personality lol. They said kaleo is ok, but thats about it. No one is mean, robyn is VERY respected, but they just dont connect well with everyone. They said Ang was good. We just need that personality hire, and a BLOCKING/hitting coach on the team

Man that was a beatdown on our own home court. Clearly we weren't ready for their service game nor could we slow down their hitters. Jade Light was impressive as was Ally Chandler. Maybe we'll do better on the road. Davis also beat Cal Poly at SLO in 4 so maybe we got chance.

I am all for the staff and even more so the athletic department heads into putting a lot of resources into another hire. We are able to staff a 3rd assistant, we just haven’t and I don’t think that’s something that falls on Robyn. As of now Volleyball is Hawaii’s top sport in terms of draw and excitement and should be treated as such. But saying idiotic stuff like the they are more worried about coaching club volleyball or that they should be fired because of a lost to a Big West team that’s exceeded expectations this season is not something I think any reasonable person should be buying into. However just throwing it out into the ether is one thing, actually naming names of attractive personalities who would be good candidates for recruiting coordinator is what’s needed rn

I will focus on this season for now.
I continue to be intrigued by the Hakas versus Adeyemi on the left side decision. On average, Stella is a less efficient attacker than Tali (0.144 vs 0.162), and that's with Tali handicapped hitting on her less favored right side. Stella is also a bigger service target (again, relative to Tali... not defending her disappointing passing numbers here). But Stella had more stellar hitting games - e.g., 11 kills and 0.500 versus Texas, her first weekend with 22 kills and 0.286 versus SMU and San Diego. Is this the coaching staff's saying Makes me they still believe Stella's breakout season (that we all wish for) may still be in the cards? I hope Kate and the team can give Stella more confidence.
And if you stick with Stella on the left, can we please try someone else on the right front, while using Tali as a DS? Mane, Way, Arquette... Or maybe Tali will finally get the timing on the right.
These two girls will determine where the Wahine will end the year, I think.
