I think it's a great deal and that it will bring some stability to Hawaii's sports. Hopefully the savings the athletic department gets from not having to pay travel subsidies will be put to good use. Also, Rachel Purser must be besides herself and jumping for joy. A chance to play in Hawaii and also come home to play in Las Vegas. What a treat for her.

You can’t be serious.. Wade has produced National Championships.. Ah Mow has barely produced a top 25 team! You can’t be serious if you don’t understand how different the mens and women’s volleyball landscape is. Charlie wasn’t winning National Championships at Pacific, was he? I’m NOT the one that initially compared the two, but of course you didn’t see it because you are a bully on this message board!

With Hawaii now moving to be a full member of the Mountain West. I’m going to miss Big West Women’s Volleyball. I would rather the team be in the Big West than the MW.

They are the driver of the athletic programs. What is good for the football team is good for the programs as a whole. There is going to be a big future shakeup in college football and Hawaii will eventually have to leave the BW so this arrangement was not going last forever.

I just wanted to say how thankful I am for the recent posters in the post couple pages.
It’s refreshing to see intelligent, practical individuals in the fanbase that have their heads on straight versus some of you ridiculously unserious people that don’t know how to do anything other than squawk, oink, and mooo about whatever nonsense of the day you’ve come up with.
I would HATE to know that the players are reading Volleytalk regularly because of how much garbage gets spewed on here, but if they do, I hope they are seeing that there are compassionate human beings in this fanbase that want to see them thrive.
But also girls let’s get those hitting percentages up and block more balls lol
Go Bows!!!

Wasn't the Wahine going to host the Big West Championship at some point? Or was that only the men.

I truly can't believe this AD Angelos was able to secure a deal where UH doesn't have to pay for travel subsidies for ANY of our programs going to the Mountain West conference! That is HUGE NEWS!!!

The Hawai'i travel costs for MWC destinations likely will be greater as well. But the savings from not paying travel bills for MWC members should more than make up for that.

Yes, I understand the economics of it all, but for all the SoCal UH faithful it will be a huge bummer. Going to all the games from San Diego up to San Luis Obispo (sorry Davis) and those battles at LBSU were all so so much fun.

I'm going to miss those matchups with LBSU, Cal Poly, UCSB, etc., but on the other hand I get to watch the 'Bows play a match in person in my current home town without having to drive all the way into California, so that's a plus.
