i didn’t watch the match last night - who won? I'm looking for your expert analysis on Texas. Why so shy now? i’m so honored that I got you this bothered…but like i said - i didn’t watch the match live but saw it earlier today. No Stanford did not play clean in the round of 8 - but even then still had texas on the ropes and making them earn every single point (as you should expect this far into the tournament). I saw a few comments on here that the Longhorns went into Palo Alto and “smacked” Stanford around on their home court. Set 2 would say otherwise, and the ending of set 3 and 4 would also say otherwise. When you look at the overall stats - the outlier and potential difference maker was Texas’ ability to close the block and slow down Stanford’s front row..not to mention Stanford’s serving errors. Outside of those - and with how tight and blah that Stanford looked at times - they still pushed Texas all night. Can they go to Tampa and beat Wisconsin on a neutral sight - i don’t think they can - and of the four remaining teams they are, in MY opinion, the weakest in the group. Everything i will come to a close next weekend, and for the sake of ratings, i do think that a NEB/WIS championship will draw the bigger number, and for the growth of the sport, i hope those are the final two. Now please go get some rest, and be bothered by someone else.

Wowza. There’s just not a better attacker out there right now. She is so terminal and so damn athletic.

To the pompous Stanford fan who made a smug remark this season about Nebraska being irrelevant without Foecke, enjoy another year of results without Plummer. Lol, I feel like you've been lying in wait all year to say this. Well done.

Skylar will win the NT oppo battle next She has a year or so, but I think skinner comes for her cake on the RS when she graduates. Then Martin & Babcock arrives...

Kevin Hambly Spend 10 Minutes Per Practice On Defense Challenge Defense has been the Achilles heel of Stanford the last three seasons. And sure enough, Texas hit .342 in this match.

To be fair Stanfords floor defense was lights out in September against Texas and buried Texas in transition. Texas was a work in progress but it was still impressive. And Madi has taken things to a NPOY type level lately.

Kami didnt have her best night (imo)... and neither did Kipp. Stanford's block left.... a lot to be desired. Kipp is a phenomenal player, but I just don't think she ever had it in her to turn it up to that elite level of getting her team the win when the odds are against them unfortunately.

Stanford defense was their achilles heal. Baird is a good receiver of serve but a very average defender and never thought Kipp was very good defensively. One other thought, why is Kipp the only player they set in the back row. When you are leaving your 6 rotation OHs in the match, why not use Baird and Rubin?

next year they'll have still a loaded team in recruits number 2 in class Sami Francis number 2 in class julia blyashov number 3 in class elia rubin number 5 in class kami miner who knows what Lizzie Andrew will be but thats still loaded as a team . That’s a lot of inexperience. I know they are highly ranked recruits, but that doesn’t mean they’ll live up to the recruiting rank. It doesn’t compare to getting an All American player from the portal, not even close.

Be interesting to see if Stanford changes their pre-conference schedule with the move to an east coast conference. Maybe play the old Pac schools that are now in the B1G and SEC.

Historically, that is very suspect for a Final Four team. They had the best offense in the country, and the opponent hitting percentage wasn't so high as to be disqualifying (like Kentucky's astronomical .222). But still. And I'm not taking anything away from Texas--I picked them to win this region before the tournament started. They earned it.

All she is, is tall. slow. weak. easiest blocker to hold as a setter. I'm SO disappointed in Stanford's lack of defense recruitment, being MB's and DS's.

Passing stats Stanford Rubin - 2.53 (73.3%) 15 attempts Oglivie - 2.25 (64.3%) 14 attempts Baird - 2.20 (59.6%) 52 attempts Texas Akana - 1.83 (25.0%) 12 attempts Barnes - 1.89 (44.4%) 9 attempts Halter - 2.50 (75%) - 16 attempts Skinner - 2.19 (62.5%) - 16 attempts Wenaas - 1.56 (37.5%) - 16 attempts So it looks like Stanford was not really targeting anyone in particular. Crazy 3 players all had 16 balls served at them. Looking here the position of Wenaas/Barnes should have gotten more balls served at them. I am sure this will be something that Wisconsin will exploit on Thursday.
