I like Texas in this one IF The Ferret has the cojones to pull Wenaas early, and keep her on the bench, when she goes south. If not, I like Stanford. I also like grapes. Ferret is sending me, y'all are too funny on here!

I wish there was a better video of the previous Texas vs stanford match because I physically cannot listen to the one baytree linked, the sound is so horrible

Stanford doesn’t look as crisp as they did in Austin. Texas looks better than they did at the beginning of the season (plus Skinner doesn’t have Covid). Either team could take it. I don’t actually expect the upset, but Stanford is very capable of flopping both teams are extremely floppable, makes me crazy.

My rooting interest in this one depends on the Wisconsin/Oregon result. If Oregon wins, go Texas! If Wisconsin wins, go Stanford! There is one box not checked on the all time Wisconsin to do list: Beat Stanford! If the Badgers advance, I want them to have the chance to do so! If not, yeah, not a Stanford fan, see Wisconsin 0-vs. Stanford all time and 2004 (no one was going to beat Ogonna), 2016 (hardest loss ever), 2017 (Stanford was clearly better, but the Badgers won one set), 2019 NCAA Tournament eliminations!

JE cannot coach in California because it is illegal to keep ferrets in captivity. The state's position is that ferrets are wild animals, not fully in control of themselves, and may not be kept as head coach... err, pets.

True, but some Californian nihilists have been known to disobey those laws so Texas might risk it, too:

Able to go to IHOP, get a haircut, play the banjo in public, etc. We really need to stay realistic on these threads

I'm enjoying the humor in this thread.
This match is so unpredictable because both teams are capable of playing great, but are also capable of not showing up. I don't know all the reasons why Texas is up and down. As for Stanford, usually we have most players playing well, and a couple taking the night off. It is rare that we have all 3 pins play well in the same match. Usually it is two, and usually it is enough.
Texas middles are better than Stanford middles. OH's I give the edge to Stanford, but it depends on if they show up. Kipp vs Skinner: that is splitting hairs. Both are elite. They were both amazing on Friday; but I would have to give the edge to Skinner, and she finished stronger. In the 5th set against Tennessee she had super powers. Incredible. Setting goes to Stanford. Libero Stanford. Overall defense Texas. Passing Stanford.
I don't really think we can shut down Skinner. Slowing her down would be nice. Personally I would focus on shutting down the other pins, or at least one of them. It worked for us in 2016 when we took Paulina Prieto Cerame out of the game. But we had Inky then. I'm sure Hambly will come up with a good plan.

Stanford in 4. Tx has yet to solve their passing problems and overall game control.

The Ferret? 🤣😶🌫️ anyone else on here old enough to remember "ferret face" from MASH? (i think it was from the TV series, when they referenced Frank Burns)

If Stanford can stay in system and keep Texas out of system they win. Of course in a single match things happen.....
