It’s amazing to me, you have a world class, perhaps Olympian Libero who capable of educating a rookie defensive specialist. Grimes is not only Olympic caliper, but she might be even a better coach but she is a player. Scary talented Kudos to the assistant coaches, not only recognize talent, but Propagating the coaching tree that will become the new Penn State Olympian? She’s good, but..

Has anyone seen the video of Ally B’s mic’ed up on instagram? There was a short clip of their practice and one kill got them totally hyped up—someone in the background even said “What the—“ I think it was CJ hammering down the ball. Maybe someone with better eyes can confirm. Regardless, very excited for this team and can’t wait to watch the addition of CJ and MM. In a lot of their social media, interviews, etc., whenever asked who hits the ball hardest, the NE girls all unanimously and without hesitation say CJ. They also all seem to really love and support her. I think she’s a fantastic addition for penn state and I’m super excited to watch her develop.

As a Nebraska fan, I think CJ will be very good so I was sad to see her leave. She was a very physical presence at the net already in year one. As for Maggie, it will be interesting to see how she develops since she has given up basketball and can now focus solely on volleyball. She could maybe benefit from a redshirt, but I doubt it happens. She has plenty of game already, so I can see her doing well this year in a starting role.

Yes it’s CJ and she gets blocked lol She is going to be a very good player for PSU. My bet is she will become an All American. Oh she got blocked? Oops my bad I thought she got the ball through the block. My eyes are worse than I thought lol. When I first heard she was going to Neb, my first thought was “too bad she’s not going to her dad’s alma mater.” Well it looks like things are happening when they’re supposed to happen. Very happy for her and won’t be surprised at all when she becomes AA.

The starting role perhaps will give MM more confidence boost. I enjoyed watching her play in her 1st year. She’s a great fighter and she has a good serve. I forgot who they played in 2022 where I think she had 2 aces (even back to back maybe?). Wishing both CJ an MM the very best.

Seems like ISU’s Jordan Hopp So who does this put on the bench? I have not really seen her play. Will feel really bad for MM if she ends up 3rd in line again.

It probably doesn't put anyone on the bench at this point. Taylor, MM and Jordan will compete for court time in the practice gym. I'm sure they all feel confident they can earn playing time.

Although she is a grad transfer, Jordan did not play in 2021, which gives her two remaining years of eligibility.

Lot of starting experience the last two years in a good conference. She has good stats on the stat sheet. Sort of surprised we went for another Middle.

When Taylor Trammel went down for the season in October 2022, PSU was very, very, very glad they had a third middle in Katie Clark.
