If I was in charge of the rankings, This would be what I would put. 1. Stanford: they beat Wisconsin & Minnesota at a neutral site in Milwaukee. They followed that up by beating #24 Marquette. Those are good wins. 2. Penn State: they have good, on the road wins at Kentucky and Tennessee. They added a beat down at home of #4 Louisville. Those are also good wins 3. Pitt: good win on the road at Oregon, but pretty pedestrian wins agains relatively weak competition otherwise. However, still undefeated. 4:Nebraska: Good win over Kentucky, Loss to a good SMU team, pretty pedestrian wins against other competition 5. Louisville: Other than a lackluster performance against PSU, Good wins against Wisconsin & Tennessee. 6.Kentucky 7. Purdue 8. Florida 9. Creighton 10.Texas Any top ten without wisconsin but with Florida... pttttsch.

Was Izzy ranked #1 in her class nationally? No 1 setter in some rankings. Other rankings had Charlie Fuerbringer as the No 1 setter in the 2024 class...

Was Izzy ranked #1 in her class nationally? She was in some publications like Prep Dig. Seemed like more fans on here thought Charlie Fuerbringer was the better of the two but seeing them both Izzy is definitely transitioning to the college game better. Charlie has more flashy plays but is definitely not as consistent. Izzy seems better on defense also. says a psu fan... Charlie is doing great, tough serve, good defense, etc. The only area needing work is setting woscpnsin overly tall players, Smrek and Booth. Wisconsins losses this year were more due to injuries to Orzol and Smrek that playing a freshman setter. Wisconsin os better than yhose first three ga.es showed.....looking forward to PSU in the fieldhpuse thos year.

Penn State swept all 3 matches (Duke, Princeton, St John's) this weekend and is now 8-0 on the season. #3 PSU will face #1 Pitt (6-0) on Wed. 9/15 at 7:00 PM EDT in the Petersen Events Center, which holds >12K fans. The Fitzgerald Field House, where Pitt normally plays at home, hold >4K fans. I'm curious to see how many people show up for this one. I'm hoping not that much. It is Pitt, after all, and they're not known for fan support.

Yes, but Izzy graduated early, and has had 6+ months more with Penn State than Charlie has with Wisconsin. As a Wisconsin fan it's still pretty obvious that Izzy is further along at the moment, though I am sure Charlie will catch up, the question is when.

It's being held at Peterson, not Fitzgerald, so 12K instead of 4K (unless they close off some seats for volleyball?). Oddly (or maybe not), I think Fitzgerald might be a more intimidating environment? Last year, Pitt hosted two matches at Peterson: a 3-1 win over Kentucky (attendance: 3,867), and a 3-2 win over Louisville (attendance: 8,865, he program's all-time attendance record). Pitt's 3-2 win over Louisville in the regional final was at Fitzgerald (attendance: 2,879...which surprises me...seems low)

I know someone mentioned announcers said it is sold out for Wednesday but I don’t think so, I just checked and general admission tickets are still on sale. I will be in attendance, any game in the Pete is a great experience so looking forward to it. Go PSU!

I don't think the record is going to be broken. It's on a Wednesday night. The Louisville game where we got the 8k was on a Sunday that the Steelers weren't playing in that time slot. It'll depend on how many students show up. The field house only holds about 3,000 now a days. Back in the Big East days when you could cram 6,000 in there, the seats were all bleachers on both sides of the floor. Now the lower part of the arena is seats, and the one side of the arena the bleachers were taken out to make a weight room for not football and basketball. But it's still a gym that can get hot and sweaty.

For the love of God, someone please beat Pitt. I cannot handle the idea of them winning the national championship.

Who did PSU play in VB before joining the Big Ten? Same teams as in football, more or less?

Who did PSU play in VB before joining the Big Ten? Same teams as in football, more or less? No. Football was independent. Volleyball was A10.
