I think thats a very fair question considering he coached her like 5 months ago, I dont see how it was disrespectful at all He is sitting there with 2 of his players, all there to discuss Pitt in the semi final, and he keeps getting questions about NE and Ne Players. You don't see anything disrespectful about that. Well I do, and I'm a NE fan. But if you watch all the press conferences literally every single coach/team got a question regarding another team, like how they matchup or about a star player, etc. nothing disrespectful whatsoever imo. |

The way it was asked, same as asking Coach Cook how Akana has improved at TX since leaving NE. |

I'm sorry but that's a bizarre question to ask, because why would he have been watching all her games until now? She plays in a different conference. Is he expected to be watching the games of the players he coached on the national team? Beason has had three coaches in the last two years. And Fish has coached 40+ girls. He said very nice things about JWO, all of his answers are just terse, I think you Nebraska fans are looking too much into it.
It's a very different thing to ask how teams match-up or what you're going to do to slow a player down. Could you imagine an NCAA Basketball coach being asked how a rival school's player has improved throughout the season?

To explain so I don't have to respond to your other one, it is much easier to ask a girl who has played with three coaches about her experiences with individual coaches than to ask a coach about players on other teams when he's focused on the development of the 18 girls on his squad throughout the season. He is looking for a commonality, story line. I think it’s lame but it isn’t in any way controversial. Dan isn’t someone who is going to gush about a player or program, I think he wants the respect that the top teams get, and isn’t missing any rings. I think that’s fine, and I think that could change down the line. |
