Not if her health is at stake….. also, as was pointed out in the Texas thread, her location seems to have improved a lot staying on her feet. ^^ as Micah Christenson says, jump setting is overrated!

Hey Texas fans, is this accurate: "I thought that was Shaff? Is Swindle also hurt?
yeah she injured her foot early on in the tournament. If you look at some of Texas's most recent games, you'll see that she doesn't jump set to save that foot/ankle"I hope everyone is at full-strength for the match. That's the way it ought to be. hornshouse23 was at the Stanford / Texas match and said Ella was limping and gimping everywhere.

It seems like most of the posts I see are corn huskers hoping the Badgers don't get to the final. Can't see many Huskers fan rooting for The University of Texas Longhorns. (It would be like us rooting for the aggies) I don’t see that as completely analogous.

yes! She’s been in a boot for weeks and weeks, I put the chances of her being completely healthy in Tampa at 0%. She and the coaching staff seem to be managing it well (limiting her jumps by not jump setting) but it seems to have affected her foot speed at times At this point tho, wouldn’t you give full green light? It’s the final four. Everything on the line is now. I don’t think a green light is possible. I believe there’s some pain management going on

Instead it would be like Texas rooting for Nebraska if the semifinal was NU v Wisconsin. You might like Wisconsin better (or dislike them less), but you might think you beating Nebraska was more likely.

I love the run my longhorns have made, but we have not matched up well against elite blocking teams.
I’m going to go with Wisconsin in 4.

I thought she was going back to basics (which I love) in order to stabilize her location and tempo.

Gimping less, more so favoring one leg. Doing test walks on the other. That kind of thing. She’s definitely not 100% mobile and everyone on the court was stepping in when she couldn’t get to balls I feel like she’d normally get to. A lot of bump setting too.

I wanna believe in the horns but it all depends on how they adjust to the Wisconsin block. I say badgers in 4 but if horns can push it to 5, I think they can pull it off. Prayers that Swindle stays as healthy as possible this week!

I believe in O’Neal and Skinner. O’Neal didn’t come back just for a final four she want another NC THE QUEENS WILL RISE and lead this group.

A lot of bump setting too. It's funny. I barely noticed it in the Stanford match. She seemed pretty effective, but I don't have a strong basis for comparison. I don't like it when important players are hurt going into big matches. We've had a fair bit of that this year. I guess it's just part of the game.

The Badgers have some players who can be difference makers, but I'm more interested in the team as a whole. The Badgers went through a tough patch without Smrek; losses at Penn State and Purdue, two of the toughest venues in The BIG. They turned things around with an exclamation point when they swept Nebraska.
Since then, they have had sets where they look unstoppable, but others where it looks like they haven't been practicing. That said, they're winning.
The biggest difference in The Badgers this year as compared to last is this; they can win even when they're not playing their best volleyball. They don't have to spend most of the match in system to win. They can whiff on some serve receives, have pedestrian passing and still win. Their back-row defense has become a huge plus. Last night was a perfect example
Sheffield and the players tell us they are on an upswing, but haven't played their best volleyball yet. If they reach that target on Thursday, they will win.

Ahhhh so basically who do I dislike less if Nebraska gets by Pitt, Nebraska fans have a dilemma: do they root for the conference colleagues (default choice), or being more calculating, root for the team they think Nebraska could more likely beat (which is not the Badgers)? This Nebraska fan is rooting for the Badgers. I don't care if Texas would be easier to beat. I thought Tennessee would take would dehorn the other orange. Then I was trusting that Stanford would prevent a repeat champion. I'm not to the point of Madden, and begging Wisconsin to win - but close. A loss by the Huskers to Wisconsin would be painful but tolerable. A loss to Texas would not be. Of course a win over either would be sweet.

I dont really care who wins the im not a fan of either program but idk how anyone is gonna get past Wisconsin unless there an unusually bad performance from one of their stars. wisco doesnt have any clear weakness the way stanford did imo

I'd kind of like to see Texas win, just coz I want the Badgers to lose. But I'm expecting them to win--in which case I'll be rooting for whoever comes out of the other side (of course, I hope that's Nebraska).
