What's the gag Horns fans? Ur fanbase is the largest (or most vocal) in VT and yet you apparently have (motivation seeking) fans voting for Stanford and now Wisconsin this week creating an odd poll result if one follows stats or trajectory of both teams.
Just thought I'd burst some early bubbles that this reverse juju simply isn't a successful strategy against the Badgers of the North.

I don't think this is an odd poll result I think Wisconsin is going to win the National Championship this year. I voted Horns in 5 to be optimistic, but come on. It's been a huge accomplishment for this team to make the FF after graduating 4 starters from their NC squad and bringing in a freshman setter who has been injured for weeks

Its probably the candle lighting 'neutral' fans like madden . Skewing numbers. Closer this game gets the more I see a loaded opponent that is playing at its highest level and will likely have more fan support in Tampa.

Wisconsin has been the odds on favorite since day one along with Nebraska. Texas has been piecing it together since Long Beach. We’re ranked 7th and are massive underdogs. Even the most faithful fans see this season for what it is. Do I think based on our ceiling we can beat Wisconsin? Absolutely. Is it the likely perceived outcome? You’re a troll, but even you know realistically we’re playing with house money. Maybe that gets us a win. Maybe it doesn’t, but voting for the probable winner doesn’t make anyone less of an orange blooded fan. Quite frankly, I think you’re better than this brand of trolling, but do you. For the record, I picked Texas in 4.

Booth left because she "wanted to win a national championship". Sheffield had recruited booth pretty hard, but she chose Minnesota. The story that’s been told here is that she largely chose MN because of Hugh and would have otherwise stayed. She herself has indicated that it was him leaving the coaching position that instigated her leaving Minnesota. The timing of Hugh's announcement was intended to give players whom he had recruited the chance to go elsewhere if they wanted. He didn't want to trap them.

Another Texas fan here that feels Texas is the underdog in this matchup. I think Nebraska and Wisconsin are clearly at another level than everyone else this year. I would be (pleasantly) surprised if neither of them won the Championship. I was not surprised Texas got past Stanford, but would be if they beat Wisconsin. Texas has struggled against better blocking teams, and that’s precisely what Wisconsin brings into this match. Super proud of this team. To lose an All-American S, LIB, and POY at OH, and still return to the Final Four is quite an achievement!

In fact Texas only lost one match out of their last twenty something consecutive matches. The Badgers have lost THREE matches in Texas's run. Whatever you thinking you are selling is based on smoke and mirrors. Texas can match Wisconsin in talent and will definitely have more fans in Tampa. Wisconsin's dominance is in Madison, WI. At a neutral site Texas should be even or slightly favored next to Wisconsin.

Not to rub salt in the wound, but Nebraska also has somewhat of a defector in Choboy. Just out of curiosity, was the exodus largely due to Hugh leaving as coach, or were there other things going on? Choboy decommitted because Hugh was leaving. Booth left because she "wanted to win a national championship". Wenaas left partially because she didn't have a role as an OH anymore at MN, partially to be closer to home, and partially because her closest friends all graduated and were moving on from the program. I'm not sure if both Booth and Wenaas both would have left if Hugh hadn't resigned. There may be more to each story too, that's just as much as I know.
imo they all left because of Hugh. Booth picked Wisconsin because she wants a ring. Its not that she left Minny for a ring, different logic.

The tickets are for 2 matches right? If VT doesn't lie to me, Nebraska is cheering for the conference.

Similar scenario in 21 Final Four, did Husker/Badger fans collaborate in the semis? I don't recall.

I rephrase the original statement so it is easier to read.

Yes, but they will all leave disgusted after Pitt beats them.

if Nebraska wins, a huge if, its fan base will be split. Those that root against Texas all season long and support the conference will cheer for Wisconsin. Others, believing that Wisconsin is the strong favorite and better team, will want Texas to win to increase the Huskers chances in the final. Whether they can “cheer” for Texas is another question.

First, I've been rooting for Wisconsin and Stanford to both do well because I thought my Texas team was weak this year and as you know, I want someone to be able to crush Nebraska somewhere, anywhere in the tournament.
And then Stanford would lose an oddball game and then Wiscy got beat in 5 sets in Lincoln. Gulp. And then Wiscy beat them appropriately in Madison. Okay.
I tuned into Wisconsin's match against Penn State (early) and I thought, "Hmmmm. Where is their block? Where is Smrek? Where is Franklin? Where is the wall? Penn State was outblocking Wisconsin!
And then later, the wall started showing up. The thing is, the wall shows up but it's not as fast as I imagined it would be. Oh well, fast enough to get a block.
Stanford schooled Texas in blocks in Gregory. This time, Texas prepared for the block and schooled Stanford. So, maybe.....
I predicted a Stanford win in 4. This time, I'm predicting a Texas win in 4.
But I'm just a VT-keyboard warrior. I don't play or coach either team.
