There's no mention in this thread about who Pitt fans might be cheering for in semifinal #2. Pick your poison, Panthers. (For match #1, I prefer the Badgers take on a known entity that they've already beaten in the course of the season. I also prefer a B1G national champion. Go Huskers!)

Ahhhh so basically who do I dislike less if Nebraska gets by Pitt, Nebraska fans have a dilemma: do they root for the conference colleagues (default choice), or being more calculating, root for the team they think Nebraska could more likely beat (which is not the Badgers)? Rhetorical question: Why the hate? Is it the school colors? Is it the transfers? Is it that the teams may be better than your own? A little bit of envy for winning so much? Or is it the fan base? These are all young ladies that have worked incredibly hard to get to this point. While it’s fun to have a favorite. All of these women have worked hard to be here and have earned it. The team who wins it all will be the team who plays best that day. All of these ladies are incredible. I’m looking forward to any and all of these match ups. Wish I could be in Tampa.

Texas and Nebraska are old rivals in VB, and Wisconsin has supplanted Penn State as Nebraska’s biggest conference rival. So wondering who that fan base is cheering for is a natural question. Rooting for your team and against rivals is basic in sports, and usually does involve some hidden admiration for the rival players. I don’t think any of this is directed at the players— who doesn’t admire Skinner, O’Neal, Franklin, Smrek, Beason, Harper et al.? And all the fan bases are thrilled to be here — it is really really hard.

Unless it’s the badgers, I always root for the underdog or the less established program. Its leads to a life of frustration, but when it works it feels glorious..

Just too big on the front line. As long as Smrek is in there, they are a different team and almost unbeatable.

What rotation does Wisconsin usually start in? I wonder if Texas starts out in 2 like normal or if they change things up.

They started out in 2 in the regional matches Which means Franklin is in left front (I assume she’s L2)? Which setter/opp duo starts out? I have zero faith in Wenaas to get any block touches on Smrek, but I think Skinner could.

With two setters that have 'swapped' who goes onto the floor first, I'm not sure what number to put on it. :-)

I have zero faith in Wenaas to get any block touches on Smrek, but I think Skinner could. That has swapped relatively recently. The last several matches Smrek and setter MJ Hamill have started on the floor with Smrek in front-middle.
