I’m a little surprised but I believe Louisville can be a Final Four team again. Great libero and pin attackers. Huge RS presence, and tall, athletic middles. The setting is more than adequate. Agreed.

They return 7 out of 8 players that consistently saw the court in 2023 (ranked top 5 for majority of the season). Out of last years elite 8 teams, Only Nebraska is tied with louisville in terms of returning starters - the other 6 teams all lost more significant pieces

I have been so pleased with what I’ve seen from spring season across the board. I can’t wait to see this team in the fall. Cabello is already impressive, with some confidence and experience she will be an all-American I’m sure of it. In the meantime, it appears Glock has made some strides in the off season. We certainly have a capable returning setter in Glock with more experience connecting with these hitters. Will 2024 be the year DBK breaks the glass ceiling 👀

Really hoping Cabello wins that starting spot in the fall, she just needs some work on her serve.

I personally just think Cabello just needs to serve better to surpass Glock because she's not that far behind from her. Glock is not it.

Oh well if you're only talking about beating out Glock - then yea probably just needs a better serve lol... I thought u meant her serve is the only part of her game that needs work which is not the case

This is a really solid schedule for Louisville. Full of tough opponents that we can beat if we’re up to the task. Non-con highlights include Tennessee, Penn State, Creighton, Kentucky, and Nebraska.
Plus now Stanford joins the ACC and we have them both home and away, including the last match of the regular season. Playing Pitt and Stanford back-to-back at the very end will be tough, but great prep for the tournament.
According to the release on the Cards website, “UofL will face 13 teams that made an NCAA appearance including three regional finalists with 11 opponents ending the 2023 season ranked in the top 25.”

That schedule is really tough lol
I think Penn state / Creighton will be really important to win for seeding at the end of the year, both programs are expected to be upgraded from last season - im expecting a loss to Nebraska and probably 2-3 losses between the home and aways at stanford and pitt. Playing kentucky at memorial in Lexington won't be an easy match to win either

Any mention of which matches (if any) will be at the YUM Center?

Any mention of which matches (if any) will be at the YUM Center? No word yet, but they’ve definitely been making an effort to get more matches there over the past two seasons or so. With the YUM Center hosting the Final Four this year I’d imagine there will be even more. If I had to speculate it would definitely be the Nebraska match (I’m guessing arena availability is possibly why they haven’t confirmed a date yet), as well as the home matches against Pitt and Stanford. I could also see the Tennessee and Creighton matches being there. Most of the other big matches like Penn St. and Kentucky are away this season. As for the majority of the ACC conference matches its a bit of a guessing game. For matches like that its a shame Louisville doesn’t have a mid-size option with a capacity in between L&N and the Yum Center.

This thread has been a little inactive! But i wanna know from y'all what Louisville starting line up could potentially take them to the Final 4 this year and could potentially win the ACC outright championship. There is no denying how STACKED this team is, probably the most depth they have had and so far they have one of or maybe even the toughest D1 volleyball schedule. ![](//storage.proboards.com/2107859/thumbnailer/tkEdpzrQrtmtnIsRTVbH.png) This the current roster: Setters Elle Glock, Jr* Nayelis Cabello, Fr Outside Hitters: Anna DeBeer, Gr Charitie Luper, Sr Alanna Bankston, So Ava Utterback, Fr Payton Petersen, Fr Sofia Maldonado Diaz, Gr (Right Side as well) Opposites: Sofia Maldonado Diaz, Gr (Outside as well) Reese Robins, So Middle Blockers: Phekran Kong, Gr Cara Cresse, Jr* Hannah Sherman, Jr* Liberos/DS’s: Elena Scott, Sr Kamden Schrand, So Molly Urban, Fr* Jessica Drapp, Fr* Sam Untiedt, Fr Choose your line up!
