I can't see whatever you embedded. Is there good news about Sarah? Thanks. Punzel Tweets: "Cautious optimism for badgervb that ankle injury suffered yesterday by @sarahfrankk13 in USA match is not serious. Returning him means and will meet with medical staff tomorrow." "Returning him means" is probably the autocorrect version of "Returning home soon." Probably. Thanks for filling in the blank. There's an article on Madison.com tonight by Aaron Ferguson, not Punzel. it doesn't shed any new light, except to say that "cautiously optimistic" came from Kelly.

You're talking to yourself again. You're the person who mentioned "surgery" in reference to absolutely no information earlier, and now...? You're working your drama out in public. 🫣

You're working your drama out in public. 🫣 I read that as trying to dial back the drama. It’s understandable we would all be a little on edge about this. Let’s all take a couple breaths (Autocorrect tried to change breaths to breathalyzer. lol).

We have a volleyball game next month, woohoo!! My goodness what it is time? I feel like we were just mourning over the cancellation of the spring match with Purdue.

I must have missed something. The match listed for Tuesday, August 20 with Bradley.. is that an "exhibition" match? The Louisville match is the start of the real season, right?

Get some actual outside competition before the 3-match gauntlet and work out some kinks. Exhibition or not.

I totally missed the Bradley announcement. Huh. I guess there is no real option for a cardinal vs white match with only 3 OHs (one of which was thinking about the Olympics), so it makes sense.
Only a month and a half to the first vball match. Wow.

NGL I saw our season flash before my eyes when she went down. Seems like she’ll be okay. Yeah, it’s hopefully just a rolled ankle or a minor sprain. If she’s able to stand with the team, it shouldny be super serious. Let’s just hope for a quick recovery 🙏 They really need to update the under the net rule. IMO, ANY body part touching the other side underneath the net should be an automatic fault and point for the other side.

Especially considering Wisconsin missed a potential 2014 National Championship due to one of these.... 😤

What exactly is the international rule?

Like even the slightest toe over the line - stop play, point awarded to the other side.

Like even the slightest toe over the line - stop play, point awarded to the other side. The rule is the same (fault for full body part over the line unless going under doesn't interfere with the opponent). Officiating the "under the net" rule that strictly would be nearly impossible, but at a minimum, I think it's how young players should get trained to ingrain the idea in them. Somewhere I saw a video of Dan Fisher from Pitt saying he'd prefer a double line at center court with like a ~1-2 inch neutral zone to reduce how over players' feet are allowed to go.

I'm not sure why my proposal would be nearly impossible to officiate. On the contrary, I think it would be easier to officiate. It's like if the ball is in or out, the application of the rule it's really open for interpretation. Whether or not you see the ball in or out, is subjective, but the rule is pretty clear. As a rule, "full body part" and "doesn't interfere with play" sounds a lot more open to interpretation than not crossing the line at all.
