The video showed Sarah rolling an ankle. She walkedoff the court on her own. She stayed on the bench. She was smiling. She walked in and of the huddle during time outs. USA Volleyball had trainers and staff onsite—I don’t think they would have let her walk on it if the knee was loose. I know the knee can be injured when rolling an ankle and I know a rolled ankle can break the tarsals or lead to a slow-healing sprain, but I choose to assume no information is simply no information until there’s a reason to think otherwise. Yep, just ask Nebraska's Lindsey Krause how bad a rolled ankle can be. She missed most of last season because of it. At the Nebraska Spring game the coaches said she still isn't 100%. That being said, Franklin's injury didn't look nearly as bad. I would guess she is likely to be back to 100% in a very short time.

Paging Dennis Punzel, I need a Franklin update According the one of the blog sites, she was due in for an evaluation yesterday. Any number of things may have put off results, For example, if she showed any signs of residual swelling, they may have put off any imaging to get a clearer image. Or availability may have been limited so near the holiday.

The Frankle is both sprained and fractured. Boo. Think healing thoughts, everyone.

Bright side? This happened now and not in like November. Rarely have I felt as awful as I did for Knuckles getting a season (and ncaa career) ending injury late in the season.
She’ll get healed up. Wishing her a quick recovery.

A key factor is for her not to come back too soon and reaggravate it. I want her to be healthy for the whole season.
In that spirit, the match right after Texas seems ideal for a return.

Considering we start with Louisville, Texas and Stanford, no Franklin may mean 0-3 to start the season. Not RPI killing losses but a rough start. Even if she's back, you have to suspect she won't have been able to jump for long so she would be rusty at that point.

Shadd Ceres will surely get playing time now, and some MB/RS (maybe even two) will get OH training too. Sheffield may revisit the portal again.
