Looks like Devyn, Sarah and Julia have been named captains. That was stated during the media day interviews. We've known about Orzol for some time. |

When you talk with the elders in your family do you also casually observe how old they are? It's not an "observation", it's a mean comment and your unwillingness to admit that is pretty cowardly. Admit the ravages of age? Of course it is neither a secret nor a mystery to those with whom I associate. Things called mirrors, DLs, and other markers of time that shouldn't be ignored. Markers like being stuck in the past and rueing change. I appreciate your concern for my sage elder but trust we are good, bless your heart. ❤️🥹 I'm concerned about something else, but okay, brush it off as you will. It doesn't change the fact that not only was it rude to simply brush off someone's well-elucidated and reasoned opinion as "oh they're old", it was a personal attack on that person's age AND it simply failed to win any arguments. There's this thing we used to learn in school called "logic", and that kind of response was called "ad hominem", or attacking the person rather than their argument. And while I'm sure politics have numbed us all to ad hominem attacks, it doesn't change the fact that they are wrong, rude, and lazy, and shouldn't be a part of polite conversation. And if a Bucky fan cannot converse politely with another on this board, they ought to disengage. Thus endeth my polite critique of your debating style. |

I was kind of hoping Fuerbringer would take #3 (with the idea that Carlini 1, Hilley 2, Fuerbringer 3) but alas my whims were not served. |

Last year Coach Kelly met with season ticket holders prior to the first match outside at the upper terrace in Camp Randall. Has anyone heard anything about this year? It was very well done and we got to watch the football team practice at the same time. I took the granddaughter she loved it. They let the kids try on championship rings and gave some stuff away. In the past they've tried different flavors of this pre-season event. A few years ago it was announced weeks in advance and you could RSVP with a +1 if you wanted, they hosted a dinner and gave a little talk. I believe last year it was a last minute thing before the first home non-conference game (I could be wrong about that -- I wasn't able to attend). I haven't heard anything about this event this year, which makes me think it will be more like last year's event (announced just a day or so before the event) than it has been in the past. Nevertheless, if you haven't gone, I really recommend it. It's fun and it's cool to hang out in the fieldhouse. |

As the public ticket sale opens, Nebraska and Penn State are sold out. I'll have some fun keeping an eye on when things tick over whilst I watch Olympic volleyball.

This took an already stupid debate and made it dumber. Thank you for your service. 10:30am shows tickets still available for everything but Nebraska and Penn State. I wonder what the numerical difference between "Not Many Left" and "Almost Gone" is. |

I have been critical of Carlini for Team USA. But she deserves major kudos for being so accepting of her role this Olympics. She made a huge impact today in the double sub and honestly it was rewarding to see her put her best foot forward and as a result she is a guaranteed Olympic medalist with a chance at one final W to be a part of on Sunday for her national team career.

They had a bit during the broadcast about a drawing Carlini made as a kid of her wearing a USA #7 jersey, and how everyone in her family wears #7, etc etc. So I wondered why she ended up as #1 at Wisconsin.
In 2013, junior Deme Morales had #7, so Carlini must have deferred and settled for #1.
Somehow #1 seems more fitting, IMO.

The cold silent stare back would be enough to turn you into a pillar of salt. #1 fit Carlini's role at UW better. We all said, "Of course she's #1!"
