I think at this point, Starck getting it is a foregone conclusion. Starck has had a better overall season than Charlie and so far, more team success. Charlie has been so improved in the latter half but she still has inconsistent moments Agreed. I do think Charlie makes the all freshman AA team (don't they have one?) no, but the big ten does

When a "She's the best" narrative takes hold, it's hard to shake. For example, Rodriguez as the First Team All American over Barnes in 2021.
This year, most people seem to be on the Starck train because ______________ [fill in the blank as you see fit]. IMO, there is only one data point that matters at this point in the season: Wisconsin 3, Penn State 0. Wisconsin .465 / Penn State .118
"But she [Charlie] still has inconsistent moments". Show me a freshman who doesn't. In fact, show me any player who doesn't. SMH.

Charlie has been so improved in the latter half but she still has inconsistent moments As much as I love Charlie getting it, it will be Starck that will get it. Charlie didn't click early because of lack of practice time with the hitters and Sarah not being at 100% early in the season despite taking 60 swings at the time and Anna having injury issues and with that lack of practice time, Booth and Smrek weren't utilised at their best due to poor sets. Maybe my Badger fan bias is huge but I think Charlie may have a higher ceiling and have the potential to win NPOY as a setter. There’s still a good amount of season left, so we’ll see how the awards get distributed. Last year, Kennedy Martin looked like a runaway pick for National Freshman for the first half of the year, but Babcock and the Nebraska freshman overtook her in the convo as the season progressed. We’ll see how Penn State responds and how Wisconsin builds over the next few weeks, but they’d both be worthy recipients.

Any one else see PSU losing two more games this season? I think Purdue and Nebraska can both beat them. Wisconsin showed the prescription for victory. Of course, winning in Rec Hall will be a tough thing to do for anybody, so the odds are maybe 25% of this happening. If it does, I would assume PSU is not a regional host?

Im hoping for Purdue to beat PSU & Nebraska to lose at PSU. With Wisconsin beating Nebraska at home & therefore leaving us with a 3way tie for the B1G title

Sappy post 🥲 As a newer fan, this is the first class, I’ve followed from freshmen all the way to seniors/graduate students. All of these gals are so talented and have been such a fun class to watch, and I’m really going to miss seeing them play. I keep reminding myself to appreciate the present while my favorites are still playing together on my favorite team. God, I still miss Laura Abbinante, Amy Lee, Sherisa Livingston, Sheila Shaw, Jill Odenthal, Deme Morales, Kelli Bates and on and on and on. It's hell being an old volleyball fan. 😐 But it's also a great legacy to be aware of. Same. My first volleyball memory was watching Wisconsin upset Penn State on Halloween night in 1997. One of the best atmospheres the Field house has ever had.

Are Julia and Anna still able to return next year? Or did the extra covid year end? I am new here. No, the COVID year was only for athletes in the Fall 2020 / Spring 2021 school year. They started in Fall 2021, so they’re regular seniors. Anna enrolled early, so she was “here” during the spring 2021 season, but her eligibility was not available until the fall of 2021. She was a true freshman the fall of 2021, just like Julia, and they both played all 4 years.

But there are GA ticket holders who can’t get better seats and have donated more for various reasons so I would not be surprised if there are season ticket holders that are bumped down a level or two. Not trying to be negative Nancy, just expectation setting. It shouldn’t be as bad as last year, but it definitely is possible that getting bumped down a level is possible. Getting bumped down two levels should be much less likely this postseason, with how they restricted ticket requests to how many season tickets you hold.
