I wish Simon was also enrolling early, but I suspect it might be easier for a little (especially one who will start the season as a ds most likely) to join at the beginning of the season than it would be for front row attackers. I could be wrong, the transition could be equally as hard for all position groups. Our off season is about to be fun with Sheff looking to add 4 players via the transfer portal! Wonder what he would go for, certainly an opposite & I could also see an outside for experience joining too in case Quest has struggles. A middle for the practice gym? Or if good enough take a starting spot. Though I believe Tosia will be our other starting middle, depending how she reads the game & blocks laterally. I like the limited sample size I’ve seen of her. Next year (as of now) we’ll have: 3 Middles 1 Opp (who doubles as setter) 2 True setters 5 Littles 3 Outsides Full breakout for next year: OHTrinity Shadd-Ceres, SO Una Vajagic, R-FR Madison Quest, FR MBCarter Booth, SR Tosia Serafinowska, R-FR Natalie Wardlow, FR RS (S)Addy Horner, FR SCharlie Fuerbringer, SO Morgan Van Wie, SO DSGulce Guctekin, SR Saige Damrow, R-SO Maile Chan, SO Lola Shumacher, SO Kristen Simon, FR In a perfect world we get 4 more talls: Two OH and one each who can play MB and RS. With ZERO returning starters on the pins and only one returning starter in the middle, I have to imagine some transfer portal prospects will see an opportunity to compete for immediate playing time next eyar.

I'm very interested to see who even goes into the transfer portal next year!

Didn't they change the redshirt rules or is that just something that's been considered?

There will be at least 3 in red opened up, as the people I go with can't make them, so I just went and requested GA. I thought about requesting just 1 reserved, but I'm a bigger guy, and when in a single, was just uncomfortable being packed in. This way I can just go find a GA and be a bit more comfortable.

I just know that neither Tosia nor Una has played at all this year so far and I do not for see them playing the rest of the season - in Una's case Sheff has said she won't play until spring and in Tosia's case, we already have 3 middles fighting for 2 spots, why would we put a 4th in the mix? So I am assuming they ei be redshirting. But whether they are listed as R-FR or SO on the roster doesn't make a difference, neither will be a retuning STARTER.

I thought there was a change (or maybe it was just rumored) that you could play X amount of games while still retaining your ability to redshirt like football has. You can play 4 games and the bowl game in football while still retaining redshirt status.

I'm not sure how much value a redshirt has anymore. It used to matter when there was friction to a transfer because it meant the kid had a whole extra year in your building for development and you were very likely to reap the benefits of that year of development. Now, it is just a lot more likely (relative to the pre-portal era) that the redshirt year is a developmental year that pays off for some _other_ program.

If this was a stipulation last year, I missed it. I think last year you could just request up to 6. I don’t recall there being a limit last year. I know I voiced my opinion to the ATO that it was frustrating to see so many tickets up for sale right away, including premium seats.

If I understand correctly, this new policy should prevent that. I don't see how you can get bumped out of your tier if you can't request more postseason tickets than regular season. I take that back. The one way would be if a donor who was also a regular season ticket holder at a level below gold went up a tier in donor level between the time they locked in the donor levels for regular season benefits vs October 31 (when they locked in donor levels for post season benefits). Surely that happened but I don't imagine it happened much. I have bronze level seats but typically get silver level postseason seats, as my donor level is pretty high, though I’m at the bottom of the rank.

Just got a survey from the athletic department, essentially trying to determine how much i would pay for various seat options for various sports at the Kohl Center. In it they mentioned they are considering moving more volleyball matches to the Kohl Center, of which I said I was not in favor of.

I had deleted the email without opening the survey, but I will bring it back, just to tell them "no" on VB at the KC.

The bullet list of this year's postseason ticket allocation rules in swaggyp's post on page 488 included: - You may request up to your season ticket total, or up to six (6) tickets, whichever comes first.
I checked my emails from last year (Nov 2023), and that bullet said (sic): - You may request a total (8) tickets. Requests in the Gold sections may not exceed six (6) tickets
We've had season tix since 2013. Two years ago (2022) we did not make any additional contribution but for postseason received Silver for rounds 1&2, then General Admission for rounds 3&4 (Sweet Sixteen & Elite Eight).
Last year (2023) we made a $300 donation (to be in the Red&White Club [$250 min], thinking it would help us get better postseason seats) but ended up getting Bronze, then General Admission.

She seemed like she did some pretty impressive things... "three-time gold medal winner in the U17, U18 and U19 Polish Championships ... three-time tournament MVP ... three-time Best Middle Blocker award winner..."

Ah, that’s right. That definitely explains what happened last year. So last year, the top dollar donors got to pick first, even if they had ZERO season tickets. Donor rank was the first priority, which sucks hard. It seems like they’ve closed this loophole, so it blocks out ALL non-season ticket holders until they release general seats to the public. Thats a HUGE improvement, and it rewards season ticket holders first. FWIW, 2 bronze VB, 4 FB and 6 BB season tickets puts us up there in the $2500 donor range, so that’s how I’ve been able to get gold (2021) & silver (2022 & 2023) level postseason VB tix. That donor level (or my rank within the donor level) is absolutely useless when it comes time for Badger Select. The last 2 years, Badger Select ended before my selection time came up, so I’m stuck with these bronze seats, even though I’d like to move up in the future. We’re dropping BB next year, so we will be sliding down to the $1000 donor level in 2025.
