Age has absolutely nothing to do with it. I'd have objected to black jerseys (or green or purple) every bit as strongly when I was a UW student in the late 1970s. The difference is then nobody would have ever even suggested such a thing. Yeah. It's change. It would have been "change" when I was twenty, and I would have opposed it as strongly then as I do now. Age has NOTHING to do with it.

I saw, GG must've been trained by the Turkish arm wrestling legend Engin Terzi in preparation for East vs West 14 (founded and hosted by Engin Terzi) which is being held in Orlando Florida It's always been hosted in Istanbul Turkey and this is the first event that's being hosted outside of Turkey.

OH! Well, that makes sense - "public debate" has nothing to do with logic and everything to do with using logical fallacies to the utmost. Explanation accepted. Perhaps in your world...Not in mine. Logic and law are beyond intertwined. Logic and opinion, on the other hand. 🙄 I'm bored...moving on. As long as you don't sling personal insults anymore - clearly, a difference of opinion in what a personal insult consists of was the original beef.

Rettke hasn't seem any action yet, has she? I thought she had to have played at some point to get a gold medal. Since she’s officially on the roster, she would have earned a medal regardless of if she hadn’t subbed in. I believe the “must play” is only for the alternate / players moved for the alternate. Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarification. I saw some questions about Carlini's ability to get a medal in the Olympics threads, when it wasn't clear if she was coming back from being alternated for Hancock. I misconstrued that to mean a player has to see the court to get a medal, but I missed that Dana had gotten in to serve (haven't seen 100% of all the sets of the matches thus far), so that's a non-issue.

Milwaukee Journal online this AM:
But before Franklin attacks her final year of college ball, she’ll continue to recover from her injury. She is limited to back-row play right now.
“Fortunately, she’s been a faster healer and seems to be progressing pretty well,” Wisconsin coach Kelly Sheffield said. “She’s not hitting right now. We’re not having her do any front-row things because it’s still a bone bruise. We want that sucker to get healthy so it’s not lingering throughout the season.”

The way to make sure that vball coverage continues is to give them traffic.

I was surprised that there weren't more sellouts at this point, so I clicked on the ticket map.
For Iowa and Michigan State, there are literally two tickets remaining: one single in two different corners for each game.

It is pay-walled. I have a subscription, but I think non-subscribers can read one free article before the hammer comes down.

Any indications yet on who will be playing opposite? Nope. It's only the third day of practice today! We've not seen much in the way of film, and I expect we won't know more until they play Bradley on the 20th. It's still possible they play a 6-2. They've been talking up the senior transfer setter Anderson, but they do that for every backup setter the badgers have ever had. I'm personally still expecting a 5-1.

IMO the most uncertain positions are L and DS. Saige has been seen back in practice, while Lola and Maile's performance levels are still to be determined. Lola has big time potential but let’s see how she handles pressure. Has GG improved her consistency in passing?
Ultimately, at the end of the day I have no concerns. Kelly will pick the hardest and most talented gal to wear the special jersey. looking forward to have a strong passing team to add to our already excellent blocking.
