Also, if I am not mistaken, Dragan is the one that typically pans Carlini in the international threads, regardless of what happens. Their full commitment to that bit makes me less than trustful of their opinion. The Smrek take is very hard to understand.

As a bonus, bballin made his first appearance of the season. Looks like it will be business as usual when play gets started.

Think what you want. Has nothing to do with being benched, it has everything to do with development as a setter… and not wasting a year running a 6-2 teamed with an inferior setter. Like I stated, Anderson is “very mediocre”, because that is what the tape says she is…and being “odious” is a curios way to react to an opinion. But you know I’m accurate. And I’ll end with this, I believe Fuerbringer will be a one and done in Madison… the best setter coach in the country is now in the B1G at USC, and that will tip the scales. So enjoy this year. 🏐 This post linked : “photo’s” who is the “too setting coach” who is at USC? 3 def coordinators prior to being at USC?

I wasn't sure you all wanted to watch Texas to win another one in a row while Smrek is your "OOS" opp lol. My comments were about big matches and what could gone wrong and what have gone wrong. Not about conference play stats. A European stuck on Egonu and Boskovic as the model for Right Side attackers.... And he obviously didnt watch the 2021 National semifinal vs Louisville where Wisconsin would probably loose without Smrek.

. Who the hell cares if she looks wonky if she's smashing high .300 lmao? This team doesn't get OOS help from right wing as first option. Smrek gets OOS if the left side doesn't work. Maybe can you think more about strategy of other teams? When big teams controlled left side attackers, Smrek hitting .300 won't matter anything cause Wisconsin will lose. What I am suggesting is changing the style of system if this doesn't work in first place and get more traditional with a great setter. So what you will: last 3 matches for wisc: PSU, ORE, TEX: Ks% -eff%-%x’s blk’d % 1) smrek-43.9-.348-0 2)Booth-39.0-.244-7.3 3) Robinson38.3-.333-0 4) Thomas-Allara37.2-.256-3.5 5) Crawford-35.0-..300-5.0 6) Franklin-30.2-.201-5.4 *note Franklin led team with most K’s (45) and more doubled the attempts of everyone but TTA. 149-86 Clearly Smrek needs more attemots not less!

Speaking of axes to grind... I thought we had let this go four pages ago. Apparently you haven't. If you are family of Izzy or MJ, I'm sorry that we have moved on so quickly from them. Otherwise, put a sock in it. If someone is going to personally attack me I am going to defend myself and my thoughts. Do you realize you just extended the convo? And why are you so triggered anyways. This forum is for discussion relating to the Wisconsin volleyball team and I was commenting on disrespectful comments by one of the players. Bringing up slights is a reason for members to make personal attacks against someone stating their views? Sad you would lash out in such a manner. I ðoubt that izzy or MJ would take great offense to CC comments so maybe some of us should stop being offended also.

2023: statistically Franklin carries the water: 1216 att’s smrek 552 and a % of smrek’s att out of the MH- Kill %and eff smrek beats Franklin both categories: but again no telling how many out of the MH pos. Smrek should probably serve more second on team for srv ace % Booth best blocker with 12 more sets played than smrek: 79 stuffs fro booth: 77 for smrek: with booth 47% GT AND Smrek 49%GT!
From % points scored smrek needs more chance's certainly not less: and when she joins Canadian National Team as 6Ro OPP. All disbelievers will be targets for VT believers!

We are excited about our new Quarter back he throughs the deep ball fearlessly: we will miss Tom Brady, but its exciting time to be a deep threat on this team? Are they really shading Tom Brady?

I'm reasonably certain that CC isn't paying any attention to your self-righteous @$$%*!*. I hope she keeps shining on, a breath of fresh air in a world full of sanctimonious bloviators. I'm sure she isn't if she was thoughtless enough to say what she did. I'll say it again. Lighten up Francis...

I loved the Nebraska ESPN special. But man it would be so cool to see a special that covered Wisconsin’s run & the season we lost the B1G to Nebraska. How that may have felt in the perspective of the team & Kelly, plus covering a current season (that hopefully leads to a B1G title & National Title 🤞🏼).

OK Badger fans, what do you predict will be our record after the first 3 games? Honestly, I feel like we could be 0-3 just as easily as 3-0. Much of my dilemma is due to not knowing if Smrek or Orzol will play.
Louisville: 50/50. They will be extra motivated after we spoiled their perfect season, and have a home court advantage. I think we have the edge talent wise. Sounds like they have some things to work out system wise. Texas: 45/55. We more than hung with them in the first 2 sets last year. Extra motivation for our players, home crowd, a game under our belts, etc. will keep us in the game, but I give a slight edge to Texas mostly because I feel like they have fewer unknowns / changes. Standford: 60/40. While I'll admit that I don't know too much about Standford this year, this feels like the most winnable game of the 3. I really wish we were playing Stanford first before Texas.
My prediction is that Orzol will not play and we'll be 1-2 (don't hate me for this - I'm mostly trying to keep my expectations in check). If both Orzol and Smrek play all 3 games, I think we'll be 2-1.
I'll be there in Milwaukee and certainly hope we win both those games.

I think Stanford will be the easiest matchup. They lost their top two scorers for last season (Kipp and Baird) as well as one of their middles. They have a lot of good pieces, but a lot of those pieces are young and haven’t seen much court time. Louisville certainly won’t be easy. They bring back nearly their entire roster from last year. But, that same roster also got reverse swept 3 times last season and lost to NC State. They’re talented, but I think they’ve hit their ceiling as a team. Texas is the likeliest loss. It’s gonna be hard overcoming Madi Skinner and the mental barrier of last year’s defeat. That being said, a huge part of last year’s Texas team was their dominant MBs. Asjia O’Neal was a literal US national team member and Bergmark was a 5th year senior. Middles of that caliber make for a very disciplined block. Wisconsin needs to exploit the inexperience of the Texas middles to have a shot at overcoming the Skinner factor. I’ll be going to the games in Fiserv (yay!) so I want them to win both of those, but I’ll be happy so long as I see one Badger victory 😊

Much of my dilemma is due to not knowing if Smrek or Orzol will play. I agree. I'm not sure what will happen and so much depends on injuries. I had 1-2 for this run in my preseason predictions. I think the change in system and at setter is a big one and will result in a period of adjustment. It will also refresh the team and pay big dividends down the line, but not yet, especially with all the late arrivals and injuries slowing practice. So if I were to pick, Stanford will be the sole win, but it would be hilarious, and not impossible, if we were to beat Texas and lose to the other too. But what happens on the day is a bit of a coin toss if I'm being honest, especially not knowing enough about the other teams.
