I read in a FB group that Sheffield said Lola is out for the Minny and Nebraska matches this week. Anybody confirm? Whether it is true or not, I have no idea. But I can't imagine the circumstances in which Sheffield would say it, especially as quickly as this would imply.

I read in a FB group that Sheffield said Lola is out for the Minny and Nebraska matches this week. Anybody confirm? Wouldn't surprise me. They said she had a bloody nose after she took the ball to the face. It look like it whipped her head back pretty good. Saige did well last night. If we can get GG back, I think we'll be okay. Admirable to get thrown in there and perform well.

The thing thst stood out to me with just how good Damrow looked in serve receive especially as the game progressed. A shaky beginning had me panicked for a hot minute but by match end she proved herself as one of the teams top performers for the evening. The specific negative things I recall was a serve that ate her up and a couple miscommunications. Overall she perforned very well. The only thing stopping Saige has been injury. Maybe that’s behind her now? I remember early in the season Sheff said that Saige has been healthy for a while but was struggling to get through the mental aspect of the injury, not being as aggressive as she was before the injury. Hopefully she’s finally worked through that and can just play her game again

Happy Sunday everyone!
Can’t believe there are only two weeks left in the regular season. Next week is going to be huge, with rematches against Minnesota on Wednesday and Nebraska on Saturday.
Best wishes to Lola 🙏🏼. Her health is the most important thing, so let's all hope she stays mentally strong through the concussion protocols. Concussions are complex and, as we’ve seen with former Badger Danielle Hart, they can be very challenging.
Once you’ve had one concussion, you’re more likely to have another. This is because the brain becomes more vulnerable to injury after a concussion, especially if proper recovery time isn't given.

Was really happy with how Saige and Maile played. It's been a while since we had a bench of smalls that could come in and do a good job. I don't think pulling Maile out of serve receive was a testament to her passing. I bet that was about keeping the formation so that Sarah and Julia had fewer adjustments to make in the backrow with Damrow. Chan was in GGs spot. You could really see where communication in those seams is important in this match. UCLA played very well in the 1st, but once the badgers stopped getting SE they won pretty easily. Maile looked super quick to me. Saige improved greatly throughout the match. I love how her teammates were communicating. You could hear them on the broadcast yelling, "Saige!!" so she knew no doubt it was her ball. How many of the 17 service errors were Maile's, 6? I think she got 1 serve in. Maybe jitters? I think so.

Service errors can be self-perpetuating and contagious. We've seen it before. Once a player gets in her head it can get hard to get out. That said I wonder if there was something weird about the ball or the air currents in that arena.
