Do we think Julia will be ready to play front row against Texas & Stanford? Or will TSC get more chances to prove herself

I think we need to ditch the 2-libero system & have Saige take the L jersey simply because she is better at SR than GG. Saige still needs to put work in on her serve receive, but being pulled from the game every other point is tough for back row players especially. Hurts the feel of the game. Also, GG would be more effective for 3 rotations as DS than she is going on & off as a defensive libero. Lola continue to play back row for Smrek & hope our passing starts to gel as the season progresses. Well, if Lola is the DS for Smrek and Damrow is the L, there's no spot left for GG to DS because there's no way we're taking either Franklin or Orzol (once she's healthy) off the court.

Just wanna say some of yall are being a little hard on Charlie imo, I was there for both matches and she was the best setter at the entire showcase lol. She is gonna cause a lot of trouble for opponents this year and is a massive setting upgrade for you all I don’t disagree with you, but I was secretly hoping to see them test out a 6-2 and put Devyn back on the right. Just to see if Crawford could help out at the net. But tbh, once the L situation gets situated and Orzol gets healthy, Wisconsin will be just fine.

True, GG would probably get the DS spot for Smrek first

I’d say gg for Smrek, only have her pass situationally when you want Franklin free to hit, Lola comes in to serve for a middle if her serve is solid

I think if Orzol continues to not play front row as she heals, we need to stagger Smrek and Franklin more. If I remember correctly Frank and Smrek were front row for 2 rotations together, which means there were 2 rotations where the front row were: TSC, Charlie, and Booth/Robinson. Unfortunately we were stuck in this with TSC, Charlie, and Devyn at the end and clearly Charlie was forcing Devyn and Devyn only. Especially with middles quicks not being there yet (and no connection there right now for Booth tbh) and passing still shaky, I'm thinking we're going to need a bailout option on the pins for all rotations, and Anna and Sarah are our best bets.

has anyone seen Anderson play? I wonder if there’s potential to move back to a 6-2 just because it’s what this group of players knows. I wasn’t expecting the level of block drop off there was tbh. maybe GG can fight for the second setter role🤣

Franklin/Orzol Booth/CC Charlie/Devyn (Anderson/Smrek) Damrow (dress GG as second lib and have her serve)

Lol It seemed to me when Shef was mic’d up and reading her body language that there may be a coach/setter connection/respect issue. Maybe I read into it too much but just MHO. She’s a true freshman, in a huge very early season match, she’ll be fine

I think CC will help with that. Why not give it a go?

I'd rather let her work it out, it's not like you can't see the potential there, the stuff that's problematic like connections are 100% fixable with reps. Remember that Charlie didn't come till late May, and Frank and Booth were away at Final Six till late July, and Frank hasn't even been able to play front row till the past few weeks. Give her time. It's no wonder her crispest connection seems to be with Robinson.

(Louisville 10.)
