What a cool experience for those players! Hopefully it causes a protest from the players that weren’t there and they decide to sit out the next game 🤣🤣🤣🤣💀

I could see CC, Sarah, & Damrow being red voters. CC strikes me as the most religious, thus most likely to be a Trumper. The rest who weren’t there (minus Oz, she wasn’t there, right?) might just come from heavily red families/areas, and thus wanted to avoid the public spectacle, despite being a Harris supporter. Saying the other girls that are not there are Harris supporters is making a big assumption that is totally unsupported by anything. It is obvious that some of the girls are big supporters of Harris, that is all you can take from this video.

Keeping it real, the players met VP Harris at The Alliant Energy Center: As Harris entered the Alliant Energy Center, she was greeted by the Badgers and Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers ... That is the answer to any concerns about the signs and "it is political", i.e., these players elected to go to The Alliant Energy Center to meet the VP at her political rally. It's all out in the open:
Omg. It's all out on the open. I still think the girls meeting the VP is pretty cool, even if it were Pence. This is a black woman running for president and this team is comprised of... WOMEN. I don't see a single piece of political propoganda. Some people are so fundamentally incapable of thought it astounds me. Wow, I fully agree that it is great that they get to meet a woman in a powerful position. But to say this is not political when you can see the Harris Walz poster behind the team in the image on your post is laughable. Let it go, lets move on.

Wait what happened to Schumacher??? On previous page it was stated she posted a Tiktok saying she had a chest cold. I second the motion and hope nothing is going around the locker room right now! 😬 Someone NIL her some chicken soup and OJ, stat!

But let's talk about what really matters- Devyn Robinson's cat, Pepito Queso Robinson. It sounds like he has some neurological issues and needed surgery. Prayers for little Pepito! Pepito's instagram is pepito.robinson if you want to follow allow for updates.

It is "political propaganda" that is at issue. Of course a political rally is political and I'm sure the players who attended were aware of that. Beyond that, there is not so much as a whiff of "propaganda" in the video:
noun: Propaganda
1. information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view ...
I feel confident in saying that no young, impressionable minds were warped as a result of the voluntary meeting with VP Harris and will leave it at that.

But, more importantly, how many badgers do we think will be on the roster for LA2028? Rettke and Franklin for sure, imo. Does Hilley contend for one of the setter spots? Robinson or Booth? I would love to see Hart in the running, but she's got to get healthy 😭
Lola and Charlie will be just graduating so I see them more in the running for 2032.
I think CC will probably continue on the Med school vs pro volleyball, myself. Who am I missing as potentials?

Rettke is the most likely since she’s already an Olympian and Ogbogu and Washington should be done after this last cycle. Franklin is next in line, we’ll just need to wait and see how she transitions to pro ball in January. MB is a super deep position in the US right now. So I don’t see how Robinson or Booth would be able to unseat one of the current MB spots at this time (Rettke, O’Neal, Hall, Butler, etc.). Hilley may get a call up into the NT gym, but I think there are people ahead of her for setter at this point. I think our next best option for a Badger Olympic appearance would be Smrek on the Canadian national team (at either MB or Opposite) or Orzol on the Polish team (as an outside or as a Libero).

Oooh, from the match notes, I didn't realize this: NCAA TOP 10 ♦ As a team, the Badgers have rocketed up to No. 4 in the nation and first in the Big Ten, averaging 3.08 blocks per set. Lousiville leads the NCAA with 3.10 blocks per set. ♦ Offensively, the Badgers have been efficient with a .300 hitting percentage, which ranks sixth in the NCAA and tops in the B1G. Pittsburgh tops the NCAA with a .333 hitting percentage.
The blocks isn't as surprising as the HP - we have a better HP than both Nebraska and PSU, even with the non-con losses. 😮

I know nothing about VB at this level and I'm not above stanning for Hilley, but if someone is ahead of her for setter I hope it is that Pukis from last year. She was the best setter I watched last year by a country mile.

The drop off from Poulter, Carlini, and Hancock to the rest of the USA setters is pretty stark, and Pukis hasn’t had enough Pro experience for us to get a sense of how she’s transition to the next level. If Poulter, Carlini, and Hancock all decide to hang up the knee pads before 2028, it’s gonna be a bloodbath for the setter spots in LA.

But then also Mia Tuaniga, Kami Miner, Rachel Fairbanks, and, dare I say Camryn Hayworth?

Pukis will not play setter for the USNT, they won't accept the liability in the block created by her size. International-level outsides will terminate on her every time. Poulter only hangs 'em up if she is forced to medically. Otherwise she's the starter and for a backup I think you look for 6'0" or taller setters in the up-and-coming group. Shaffmaster, Fairbanks, Stucky, ... Miner maybe but I think she's actually well below her listed 6'0" so she would have to straight-up outset the other competition. Pro and international competition will differentiate them. Maybe Reilly and Starck as well but I think they're too young for the 2028 cycle. As for system, I just don't think it matters. You've got 6 subs and only single re-entries by the starters, so you're running a 5-1 and then shaping it to your personnel. I think the days where coaches could win matches for their teams over the long run based on their system is over; it's all mini tactical adjustments, figuring out who plays best together and building cohesion. (edit: I see Pukis was listed 5'11" in college and I can't find a pro height for her. I don't care - my eyes say she's 5'9" and doesn't put up a big enough block to bother pro outsides)
