What's happening with GG and Carter? Did they get dropped or managed? I know that Lola's gone ahead of GG but what makes Lola better than GG? Is she more composed, does she pass better, is she really a better defender, does she make less errors than GG and does GG lack any of those things that Lola has? We have a good sample size for them to know. I think with Carter, she's being managed because Devyn and CC have been good enough to warrant playing time. Who do you think is the least replaceable Badger in this years team should one of them get injured? On the Iowa game thread, Sheffield reportedly said that GG has some bumps and bruises, and they're working on getting her healthy for the "stretch run", etc. Anyone who saw the non-conference matches knows we have no depth at left side. So Orzol and particularly Frank are the least "replaceable". We have three middles for two spots on the court. We're been rotating them in one fashion or another all year. Tonight was Booth's night to sit. No need to read anything more than that into it.

Would Devyn be a good enough replacement for Anna at RS or would've we've been more screwed than when Julia or NPOY Sarah getting injured?

The depth that is critical is on the left side, and, yeah, you don't think the coaching staff can develop talent, showing TSC one of the top middle/right side blocks in the country in practice and letting her know that, in 2 months?

I think Carter might be dealing with some injuries as well. Last night she had one of those infrared wrap thingies on her knee on the sidelines. Possible they were resting her for tonight.

Penn State will be a true test to see if the team has improved from the Nebraska match or are still flat track bullies. If the serve is good, defence holds up and Sarah and Anna remain consistent with their hitting from the Nebraska match where they were poor then there's a good chance the team will win.

A Badger loss tells you a lot about this team, I'm not sure if a win necessarily indicates substantial improvement. Even though the Huskers swept in the Fieldhouse, I do not think the team is _a lot_ worse than Nebraska. A little, yes, and if you don't play your best against a team like Nebraska they have the talent and the execution to slaughter you, which they did. A Badger win this afternoon just tells you the margin for error is a little larger with Penn State than with Nebraska.

A win here would show the Badgers can still contend but a loss will show that the Badgers are flat track bullies.

This could be my last year of season tickets. Nearly every match can be accessed on TV or online at this point for a fraction of the costs, and I can sit on my couch without obnoxious music. And the announcers on mute. I have been feeling this way and feeling on the verge of being priced out for the first time after being a fan for 30+ years and having 2 season tickets for about a decade, currently at the "Bronze" level. But then I discovered I could sell my Nebraska tickets this year for a price that essentially paid for the whole season. I didn't set out to do that, but had a conflict for the Nebraska game and simply set the price at what Seatgeek (which I hate) was suggesting. I might set out to do this next year. I feel kind of bad about it (less bad if the tickets are purchased by Nebraska fans) to the extent I might be contributing to price inflation, but a boy's gotta do what a boy's gotta do to not lose his season tickets that he can't really afford anymore.

Well, if you're going by the idea that getting swept by Nebraska tells us that we're pretty good, then you're not really using the win or loss at all, but rather in-depth analysis. Which is okay, but then I think don't make declarations about what a win or loss will tell us.

At the last minute I couldn't go to PSU today and sold them at a solid but not outrageous price in 30 minutes after posting them today on SeatGeek ($29 ea.).

Some good content here. Wisconsin Huddle is an evening weekly sports program (on the CBS affiliate in Madison) that features Wisconsin Badger athletes. It began last September and has featured former Badger great Lauren Barnes a couple times. This video includes an interview with Lola Schumacher and more content with the Wisconsin volleyball team
