Burly Ives, Memory is old and time flies and I go back to the mid 1990’s and there was maybe 1 match a year that the local PBS did. I see on the rejuvenated volleyball wall in the field house the updated video boards show the 1997 Big Ten Badger Team playing a match , not sure where that video is from. I wish there was a video of the Penn St vs Wisc match on Halloween in 1997 where the Badgers won the title. IT Was CRAZY with the students in costumes. The Good Old Days are great memories but these young ladies today are steps ahead of the play back then and I throughly enjoy these Badgers today too!

Sappy post 🥲 As a newer fan, this is the first class, I’ve followed from freshmen all the way to seniors/graduate students. All of these gals are so talented and have been such a fun class to watch, and I’m really going to miss seeing them play. I keep reminding myself to appreciate the present while my favorites are still playing together on my favorite team. God, I still miss Laura Abbinante, Amy Lee, Sherisa Livingston, Sheila Shaw, Jill Odenthal, Deme Morales, Kelli Bates and on and on and on. It's hell being an old volleyball fan. 😐 But it's also a great legacy to be aware of. It wasn't senior night, but it was their last match at Field House during the tournament, and in my head, I can still see Dildine catch Tionna Williams - the only senior that year - by the arm as they were heading off the floor, and turn her around and back out onto the floor for one last ovation from the crowd.

That same moment with LC at the end of her Badgers career. 🥺

That Halloween match is still the best experience I've ever had at an event that I have I attended personally. Franciscan friars in the front row. A milk jug following me to the match along the RR tracks. And it was LOUD. More than 10k in the FH.

Im also a newer fan, but I would say (even though I didn’t really watch them since their freshman year consistently) that Dana Rettke, Sydney Hilley, & Lauren Barnes are alll players that I will always miss. Maybe even Civita. Now on this team definitely will always miss Sarah Franklin, Julia Orzol, Devyn Robinson, & Smrek I already miss Liz Gregorski and Anna MacDonald and their bench captain energy (I'm serious, not sarcastic - they were amazing and I'm so sad for Liz's injury)

Man that is terrible. A kid wants to better herself and take AP classes and improve her volleyball skills and chances for college gets stuck not being eligible to play any sports this year and next because a coach reached out to try and find her a host family to live with, since her parents had foster kids and didn't want to uproot them. UGH.

Possibly the same issue with needing a host family. :/ The issue is not about a host family, i don't think, but that the coach helped find a host family. It was the coach involvement that made it a violation.

It was the coach involvement that made it a violation. Right. But the rules in Michigan might be different. Or 'easier' to navigate, now that the family has a better idea what to do and not do. (I'd also wonder about private vs public school, but I think the WIAA governs both in WI.)

It was the coach involvement that made it a violation. I understand that - but it's not like there's a magic host family tree; someone's going to need to get involved to find a family, and she'll still need one.
