She got a trip to LA out of it, too. :-) Go get'em, Ella! Once a Badger, ALWAYS a Badger. “Ella is a great player, a great teammate and she was all the way in,” Sheffield said. Yet, now she will be in the other side if the net. What went wrong? Can she help OSU, but not Wisky?

Clearer path to playing time at OSU, I think. Also maybe just wanted a change of scenery. I’ll miss her and I wish her well.

I’m so excited for the UA game! I also saw that Kennedy Osunsanmi is no longer committed to UCLA. Gurl, come to Madison and train with the best!

I know the TayLa conversation is played out, but it’s related to Wrobel. Toward the end of the season, a poster claimed that an OH transfer prospect was back-channeling her interest and would be a Badger; I’m assuming this was Landfair after both Londot and Terry confirmed their returns. I would guess this is when Wrobel knew that she’d be searching for an easier path to playing time. Given Orzol’s growth as L and her backcourt leadership, she has been and will be the leading L candidate, leaving Wrobel and Shadd-Ceres. Even though Sheff says Orzol would be before Wrobel, it’s clear the staff was prioritizing the portal or expected Landfair to commit. OR, the staff is hoping GG, Saige, Lola, or Maile show enough promise that Orzol moves back to OH2. I’m curious to know what happened. Is it really Nebraska’s leg up in NIL? Was it UW’s grad program? Was JC like “The fook if she ends up at Wisconsin?” It seemed like a pretty big shoe-in that Taylor was gonna commit. To me, it’s actually kind of funny that TayLa snubbed us again, but wishing her the best as a Husker. ETA: I fully trust this staff. Will be exciting to see what happens between now and June. Has she made a public commitment to Nebraska? Didn’t see anything on her insta.

She announced she was leaving Minnesota on Dec 17, so it’s been almost two weeks. Last bit of news came two days ago when Punzel reported she won’t be joining the Badgers, but didn’t say where she would be going instead. However Punzel reported a few days prior that it was down to Wisconsin and Nebraska. So one can deduce Nebraska, but no confirmation yet.

Thank you for your services Ella, we wish you the best at Ohio State. Would've loved for her to play more but she was behind Julia and she can put a big fat line through playing time if an established OH comes.
I'm curious if Ella would get playing time at Ohio State and if so where? As an OH or an OPP and do they need an OH/OPP or are they set? I'm sure she would otherwise she wouldn't have chosen Ohio State.

More and this feels like we dodged a potential bullet by not taking TL. If any of the academic stuff is true, that might be something that doesn’t fit with Badger work ethic & culture. I think you're misunderstanding. Taylor is an excellent student and is set to graduate in May. She is a graphic design student so I'm assuming her last semester will be a final project. It's probably hard to transfer to a new school right before you graduate so the school is maybe saying stay until May to finish or you'll have to retake some classes, etc. OK, my bad. Maybe didn’t think her situation through very well is a better way to describe it.

Move Emily Londot back to Opp, Ella would have to fight with Grace Eagan & incoming freshman Sellman. My guess would be OH: Wrobel & Sellman, Opp: Londot. Ohio State needs to get some transfer libs, maybe Sydney Reed lol

I've been thinking about 'no spring matches' because there are only six players fully available:
Orzol and Frank play left side and do all the serve-receive; GG bump sets everything; and Smrek, Booth and Devyn play six-rotation as opp, and the MBs.
I don't see the problem. Let's go!

Usually with a 3 middle offense, one player plays middle all 3 rotations, one plays right side for 2 rotations and one middle, and then the 3rd player plays middle for 2 rotations and one rightside. That's what Minn was doing with Lohman and the Tapp sisters in 2016. What is the advantage for the 2024 UW team? Unless I'm not seeing it, it doesn't solve the problem that one of Devyn/Smrek/CC/Booth doesn't get on the court, does it? And you still sub the libero for two of them, and DS for the third, right? So no particular difference in terms of sub count? So what's the advantage? It doesn't solve our issue, but the advantage is that its a fun and unique offense and we already have 3 middles who can play both Middle and Rightside.
