what used to be an easier sell because the BIG was a great conference is now a lot tougher. The SEC has more money and better competition so not sure Martin’s parents even take that call in 2025. The B1G isn't exactly broke. Last season the B1G outpaced the SEC in generated revenue and distributed around $9 million more to each school. I don't have the numbers but I assume that average Volleyball attendance is higher as well. When looking at the schedules of the mid-tear B1G teams it seems they have learned a lesson about scheduling for the RPI from the SEC and B12. At tournament time I wouldn't be surprised to see that the B1G is competitive in the number of bids with the SEC. They could also have the most teams alive to start the second weekend like last year. Agreed with this. And I also think we'll see the level of play elevated in the B1G this year too, including a bit more parity.

But in all seriousness I do get the volleyball aspect just because these are the two best programs. But since I just don’t see it regarding the schools themselves, it feels more like a battle for general volleyball supremacy than a true “rivalry”. Not sure that’s the most eloquent way to put it but that’s how it seems to me.

I feel like Nebraska as a school has a lot more hate towards Texas from the Big 12 days in other sports too. I definitely hope they play again this season. Such a fun game.

I think it’s way overblown, but we can agree to disagree. Texas and Nebraska are not rivals.

Texas and Nebraska are not rivals. Agree, Husker fans have enough to worry about with Wisconsin on the schedule twice. No need to get too fired up over a team they only have a 50/50 chance of playing. Not to mention that Wisconsin has knocked the Huskers out of the tournament just as often as Texas the last 5 years.

Per Wisconsin Instagram, the game against Nebraska will be a white out.

Make of this what you will, but a practice scrimmage clip Allick posted had Harper-Landfair-Beason-Bergen-Andi-Lexi all on one side
