Not sure if you all saw this comment from Kendall on a tik tok re: Harper:
@kendall Murray: There is much more to the story too!!! An extensive digital story is coming out this week by Lizz Merrill. I recommend y’all read it because there’s a couple other things that are pretty surprising.💌

Doesn't this just keep the controversy going longer? IMO it would be good for HM to move on and focus on the volleyball, the best way to put all this sh!t and the critics behind her is to come out red hot and put up some big numbers this season

Thoughts on Red-shirting Olivia? I think it makes total sense. I think it’s very clear that Laney is the heir apparent to Lexi. Olivia is a talent on the court, and a local product. Having her for an extra year would allow her to sport the libero jersey for 2 years as a matured upper classman. I think it’s of course possible she out competes Laney for the spot, but I just don’t see that happening… If Laney or Lexi get hurt (god forbid) you have Maise right there who has made remarkable strides. Just my unasked for 2 cents.

I'd kind of be down for subbing two of our pins.

Olivia has looked very solid in what we’ve seen from her. I think her playing makes us better.

Yeah, gotta agree for the most part (though you're being a bit hyperbolic). I follow Coach Petit pretty closely, and am nearly always impressed by his thinking. This post of his was a bit off the mark in my view. I replied that Andi led in blocking, but it didn't seem to post. On the other hand, there are a few points (quoted) that remind me of some excellent career mentoring I got: Complimenting individual effort doesn't help build great teams--compliment the team effort. Individuals can be rewarded, but preferably not in front of everyone else. Doing so just invites comparisons and jealousy.
So I gotta agree with Coach on that aspect.
How do we square the motivation that having your name on the wall with all the greats brings?

I think the days of redshirting a player, unless they come to school injured or are just very very raw, are over.

If Olivia is a better server than Laney, she may be first in line behind Lexi.

If Olivia is a better server than Laney, she may be first in line behind Lexi. This was also my thought. Watching the scrimmage I thought Mauch played better. Admittedly it's not apples-to-apples because she was DS'ing with a full libero to share the load. But she was definitely impressive for a true freshman

I think the days of redshirting a player, unless they come to school injured or are just very very raw, are over. Or the SA looks at the layout of the next several years and thinks it is best for herself, and affirmatively tells the coach of her preference. And even then, the coach will her to be ready to go in anytime.

I think the days of redshirting a player, unless they come to school injured or are just very very raw, are over. unless clearly communicated and agreed to, i suppose. the benefits of redshirting haven't changed despite the alternatives the portal offers.

How do we square the motivation that having your name on the wall with all the greats brings? well, that's a good point too. It's certainly not black and white!

I think it’s very clear that Laney is the heir apparent to Lexi. Very clear? I wouldn't say that lol
