i will wait for trojansc / ay2013 to give us the rpi lowdown. (preferably yelling at someone for letting the b1g down, who is it this year lol) So far, Michigan State....but I reserve full judgement until I see the full non-conference slate among all the teams. I also see Indiana is playing Texas.... like, why

Rutgers is opening up with Miami FL and Colorado in what looks like the hardest teams on their non-conference. I guess if they are to schedule these two teams, best to do it in week 1......

USC is also flirting with a lot of losses - opening up @ Pepperdine twice, @ Creighton, Kansas State, and Pitt.

Updated speculation… 1. Huskers 2. Badgers 3. Lions 4. Ducks 5. Boilers 6. Gophers 7. Trojans 8. Buckeyes 9. Bruins 10. Illini 11. Hoosiers 12. Huskies 13. Spartans 14. Terps 15. Wolverines 16. Hawkeyes 17. Wildcats 18. Knights I inherently have some bias here, but I see MSU right back competing for that 10 spot with Illinois this season. MSU finished middle of the pack last year (albeit in a more down year) and gave plenty of top teams fits all while essentially being one dimensional with a true freshman as your OH1. In 2024, you bring back the starting libero, starting setters for the 6-2, the starting Opp, an OH1 that was 2nd team B1G as a true freshman, and your utility front row player in Doezma that really did really well filling either the middle or Opp positions when necessary. THEN for newcomers, you go hit the portal hard and bring in a bonafide OH2 in Akasha Anderson with multiple other live arms in Danyle Courtney and Taylor Preston to elevate the floor of that room of pins. Plus you get arguably the best HS middle in the country in Mia Hood while also bringing in a fringe top 100 player to round out the DS/L room. Maybe this is hopium and I know the Big 10 is really REALLY good year in and year out. But I think this team will surprise people. Not sure about all your arguments. But - in Leah I trust, so I expect MSU will outperform expectations again.

Why didn’t the Big Ten coaches and administrators iron out the scheduling stupidity at the annual meetings?

Was a list of all the home-and-home matchups released yet? I know all the west coast schools are home-and-home against all the other west coast schools, and Wisconsin has Nebraska, Minnesota, and Northwestern (which would have been nice to upgrade but at least it's not Iowa); wondering if there's a complete list and I missed it.

Is the expectation that USC is going to be better this year without Skylar Fields 6 points per set? Because that is what is going to be needed for them to finish 7th in the Big 10 this year. They certainly CAN do it, but I dunno if I would be expecting it.

Why didn’t the Big Ten coaches and administrators iron out the scheduling stupidity at the annual meetings? Um, because the Big Ten can't get the stupidity of chasing foobow money out of the way? It's a bloated 18 team conference, stupidity is the norm now.

Ok, sometimes the west coast schools WA/OR and USC/UCLA are paired together in a weekend, and sometimes they aren't....that's strange.

I'm mostly looking at the travel now and seeing how it compares. Wasn't what I was expecting with the road/home splits in a singular week, but, I think it makes sense and nothing has me up in arms yet.

Yeah those first 5 matches are something for a team needing to replace 6 points per set.
