thoughts so far? Or are you saving it for the end? 🙃 Tracking with Preseason team of 18, adding Allick and Gary, and exchanging Colvin for Shaffmaster. Likely here is the rest of the list: 9. Booth 8. Londot 7. Smrek 6/5. Hudson and Reilly 4. Mruzik 3. Beason 2. Rodriguez 1. Franklin Top 2 are obvious. Some may flip 3 & 4 and 5/6. There is a dividing line between top 6 and next 6. Allick over Jackson is an interesting choice. Jackson is definitely starting, and Allick likely starts over Blackwell but it will be a battle all season. Also interesting that the new schools only get one rep each (none for Huskies), and none in Top 14. Maybe some bias against Pac-12 due to having seen them less often. Andi Jackson being left off a list of the top 20 players in the Big 10 gives major ay eye roll. Assuming this is what Ehman eventually does, like I said, the Big 10 with all its money and attention really does deserve better than what Ehman gives.

I don’t know why, but this whole time I had thought that EE’s list was about who she was most excited to see play this fall, not her top 20 players

Even if Nebraska tosses chess pieces around for a while, the Huskers still have a ceiling to compete with anyone in the country. That's not news to anyone, either. This is the Big Ten title favorite and a national frontrunner. Homer.

I have a harder time seeing Booth get left off and I think the top 7 are automatic inclusions. I find the EE Top 20 entertaining but it's a good thing it doesn't mean anything because whichever one of the 10 (the 9 you mentioned plus Jackson) got left off was snubbed pretty hard. You literally could just make the list by repeating a number between 7 and 10 and putting Andi Jackson in that spot and keeping the rest of the top players listed above and it would track. Maybe EE was stressed and just forgot someone.

To me, leaving Robinson off is as big a snub as Jackson. I guess if she had included them both it would have been 11 Husker-Badgers, and that was too many. And already she is dissing Minnesota. So maybe she should have done a top 25.

I don’t know why, but this whole time I had thought that EE’s list was about who she was most excited to see play this fall, not her top 20 players She calls it her top 20 players returning from the Big Ten. So no freshmen, but yes to Landfair.

dhpapke raised a question in the Wisconsin Badger 2024 forum about whether Wisconsin’s new Taraflex floor might be linked to recent ankle injuries. Both Anna and Orzol sustained injuries during preseason training at Wisconsin. Though it hasn’t been confirmed that these injuries occurred during practice, it seems likely. Has anyone noticed a rise in ankle injuries among players from other teams using a Taraflex floor?

No disrespect to my homer pick Ramsey, but there's just no way you could leave Andi Jackson off the top 20 players in the B10. I mean, I truly can't see a weakness in her game (maybe read blocking? but that'll change - she's a sophomore!) She's just so fun to watch play and I've adopted her as one of my favorite players to watch.
She's the Morphine to my Trixie.

The normal setup up for practice is that three courtside sections of seats are rolled back so that there is space for two side-by-side courts. Those are almost certainly not Taraflex. The Taraflex court last night was on 'risers', and at one point I saw a photographer sitting cross-legged at the edge of scramble a bit to move out of the way, and when he pushed his foot against the edge, the court surface lifted up for a second. So I'm sure the 'game day' surface is removable. Of course, some practice will be on the Taraflex court, but we'd need to know when the injuries happened and on which surface before we draw any such conclusions. (And Franklin's rolled ankle happened a thousand miles away from Madison...)

Nebraska practices on Teraflex. I can only remember one ankle injury in recent years and it was from landing on another's foot. John Cook has said that Teraflex lessens impact damage to the joints.
