Does it seem like most of the Team USA players that made the Tokyo roster or just missed it (ie Carlini, SWP, etc) haven gotten worse compared to 3 years ago? I would have thought winning Olympic Gold would inspire Hancock, Washington and Drews to improve more. Although maybe it's just the effects of Father Time. I also would have hoped missing on the last Olympics would have lit a fire under Carlini to up her level. But she seems to have regressed. I haven't been able to keep up as much, but I thought Parsons was still looking pretty good in Turkiye. I think she should still get some looks this Summer. She was (or should have been) the first alternate for Tokyo (and probably should've made the team in Hill's place IMO) and aside from her injured period, I thought she was still looking good.

Considering how big the US is, it’s wild to me how we don’t have ONE single hitter who bombs away like Vargas, Egonu, Boskovic.
One could argue Plummer, but she is not as consistent or terminal as the above mentioned.

Basketball steals some of our best athletes. Imagine if they had a 6'5 Elena Delle Donne stick with volleyball and have investment into her athleticism.

I think part of it also is those players get sent away to play with the best in the world when they're like 17 while ours are playing the ncaa until they're 22 or 23 bosko and egonu would still be amazing, but they would definitely not be as good as they are now had they spent 4 years at an ncaa program

USA had their generational terminator and then her and Karch didn’t get along so we only saw it for one quad…😔

The diversion to basketball factor will continue until average PVF/LOVB salary can match average WNBA salary. Who knows when that will happen.

Italy- Egonu Serbia- Boskovic Turkey- Vargas + Ebrar (yes, she sometimes makes you to wtf but she hits harder than all our hitters) China- Zhu (I’m aware she’s not at her best form at the moment) Poland- Stysiak Haak- (forgetting which country she’s from)

And about Vargas it’s not like turkey actually produced her plus Ebrar. Cuba produced Vargas

Just not 2 of the ones you originally complained about not having. You moved the goal posts lol.

You moved the goal posts lol. A small country(Cuba) producing a much more terminal hitter than a big country like the US I haven’t seen Thompson as of recent so I’ll give you that one
