Seems ok i guess. Nebraska doesn’t offer Boys Volleyball as a high school sport though. Not that that’s a requirement, but Neb certainly needs to get high school boys vb started up, like yesterday #salty lol

This sounds like some real estate developer had a hearing on tax incentives & got his buddy to come out & back him up that he reached out to USAV. I’d put as much credibility behind it as I would the idea that an NHL franchise is sprouting up in the Omaha suburbs… close to zero.
Especially if Karch is still coaching to LA. There was a rumor of moving to the Chicago area after Tokyo, but that got shot down.

I'd be willing to wager that Madi Bugg gets an invite to train this summer if Poulter won't be in the conversation.
I still think Gray and Evans will be there, Dilfer too. Hilley isn't ready.
These are the setters I would invite to train this summer if I were the coaching staff:
Carlini, Hancock, Bugg, Gray, Dilfer and Evans.
Thoughts?

I think Kipp has to get an invite this summer. She can play a role, even if it's not on the A team.
I would still invite Thompson, Drews and Cuttino. I liked what we saw from Nia Reed in 2022 but she seems to have been given the boot for Samedy.
What other USA opposites are lighting up the pro circuit this season?
I would for sure invite Thompson, Drews and cuttino. Kipp as well. Not sure a 5th is needed.

I think our MB duo is going to be Chi and Dana.
I think it's Haleigh's spot to lose to one of O'Neal, Tapp, or Butler.
Is anyone else even in the conversation?
I'd love Molly McCage to make an appearance but I'd be shocked if she does.
I'd invite Ogbogu, Rettke, Washington, O'Neal, Tapp and Butler to train this summer.
Thoughts?

I just don't see anyone else breaking through this roster. Is Poulter confirmed not ready? I honestly have no clue. I cannot imagine she is going to be in top playing shape though. |

It doesnt mean the staff has to give their focus to the new faces, but come summer 2025 I think they'd be happy they're not starting from ground 0 with players who were good enough to be invited an entire year prior. Same goes for a player like bugg... shell never start with the nt team but if she's better than somebody else why wouldn't you want your hitters being set by her as opposed to someone like dilfer? even if its only in practice, the higher the level is across the board, the better prepared the starters will be when the time comes |

Outside Hitter is going to be THE race to watch for the olympic roster.
Plummer and Frantti are making strong cases to be on that roster.
It's all going to come down to what kind of shape Larson is in.
I think Lanier or A. Skinner could surprise and sneak onto the roster.
Bajema is on the outside looking in.
I wonder what SWP will look like this summer? Will she be in the conversation?
Kelsey is the only lock for me at this current time.
I'd invite Cook, Larson, Plummer, Frantii, Bajema, Lanier, A. Skinner, SWP and probably Nuneviller or Lee.

Does Bugg have a realistic shot at surpassing Hancock or Carlini this summer?
I'd like this to remain as civil and unbiased as possible but I know the discussion between Carlini and Hancock often gets petty so, it is what it is....

Besides, it's never to early too start preparing the pipeline for the next quad, where we are the hosts. Maybe it's about semantics, but "invite" to me has the purpose of intentionality. Having a group of players in the training gym is the entire purpose of the NT program, so all of those things that are being mentioned are usual and customary functions, but at this point in the quad, they are not, and should not be, the primary focus of the actual NT staff. |
