Yeah, feels like just serving right at the setter would cause massive problems. I don't understand why more teams don't do it in rotation 1. It’s a lot riskier to hit the sideline and easier for a setter not to block vision of the pass from Ro1.

I think it is safe to say that cook-plummer should be our OH starters. Larson as a passing sub and maybe bring frantti/skinner for offensive/serving sub.

Are the two of them going to have the same success with less precise setting though? Genuinely asking. Wololsz can make a lot of hitters look good.

Also how much is the opposing team's block concentrating on Haak. That can certainly open things up for the OHs

I really hope Dana starts over Haleigh; she just doesn’t have much on offense.

I hope she gets chosen.

not sure? the best setter in the world could have something to do with it lol Im sure it does a little, but that much of a difference? obviously imoco is stacked with talent in every position, but the amount of 1 on 1s she gets for Plummer and cook is just not something the usa setters can do. She's also really smart about how she utilizes them - the usa setters set the OH a little too often at times imo. also imo... santarelli seems to coach the team he has, while karch coaches the team he wants. I think he recognized hill and Plummer for what they were and pieced together systems at imoco accordingly. Karch on the other hand tries to force players into a pre-determined system instead of what's best for them imo

Some really good games (China VNL, Italy IOQT) but also some really bad ones (Serbia VNL) Conegliano has much more time with their system than USA does (And Conegliano is better at it) Kim was great with Glass. Not so much with Carlini.

One key aspect with Wolosz, is she's going to be middle first on in system balls.
USA, more or less, isnt that.
Kelsey and Plummer take their fair share of OOS swings (while getting good ones too)
but the ability to have the opposing middle hold for Fahr/Lubian is so important. Even chi was late to blocks vs Conegliano

Might have been a qualifying match. Either way, Kim really didn’t play much that last quad for team USA.
