I’m excited about this group. We saw glimpses of greatness in ‘23 and I expect a year of maturing to bring more consistency ‘24. This team will not lack energy and competitive fire, that is for sure. The biggest wildcard for me is on the right. Both Heaney and Wollard had stretches of good production but will need to really step up next season if this team expects to compete for a conference title and more. I’m also curious to see how Taylor Anderson progresses in year two. If she takes a significant step forward, look out. The other big wildcard is the back row. Skimmy was soooo good the last two seasons. And I know it’s not an earth shattering take, but for this team to compete at the top of D1, they’ll need to be a GREAT passing team. Will be interesting to see how competition for Lib and DS plays out.

Kat is awesome. I’m curious what’s happening in the hiring process to replace John S.

Anyone want to take a guess at a starting lineup for 2024? I don't see the lineup changing much considering 99% of the offense returns (quoting Dave's post on X). Here's my prediction:
OH: Hudson, Chicoine (Will be one of the strongest duos in the Big Ten next year) OPP: Heaney (I feel like her ceiling is higher than Wollard's) MB: Colvin, Myers (Can Carr improve enough this off-season to pass Myers?) S: Anderson (Ready for her to run the show without a questionable Poulter sub) L: Hornung (I'm still not sold on Hornung, but I hope she proves me wrong) DS: Kane (Biggest question area of concern right here. Will Kane hold off McAleer in her first collegiate season? Does Foster switch to becoming a full time DS? After watching the Indiana All-Star game, I don't see her hitting anytime soon, especially with Tindall coming in next season.)
I want to attempt making a depth chart sometime before the spring season begins. Seeing other people's rankings of players in their positions would be a fun read.

If she does end up in the libero jersey, I believe she would be the first freshman to do so since Natalie Haben in 2016.

The emergence of Lourdes Myers offensively was huge down the stretch in ‘23. And I’d love to see Lizzie Carr take a step forward and make it a very competitive mix. If they can get consistent offense from the middle, this team’s ceiling definitely goes up.

I’m more worried about replacing Schermerhorn than anything else if I’m being completely honesty

If they’re not a great passing team, forget about the middles and competing at the top of the B1G. Historically, they’ve always found/developed stud Liberos, so there’s reason for optimism. But this could also be where they really miss John Shondell. I’m pretty sure he’s been instrumental in teaching/training/developing DS talent. Time will tell.

Interested to see how she does. I think she's going to excel.
