kind of odd this is only about the setter lolol Just making the point, that there was a number of good setters that could have set those teams like DN Red and TAV Black and been labeled all world. Not saying these arent good players because obviously they wouldnt be on the team if they werent but....First time I have seen one of them be on a team without all the weapons they are accustomed to, always been curious how that would go. Afterall, this setter was so good last year she made the Prepvolleyball.com all tournament team at Triple Crown even though she didnt play because of injury lol.(not her fault but to my point) So you’re saying someone got praise you didn’t think they deserved. Boo and I’ll add Hoo. |

After watching a couple of the qualifiers live, here are my top teams at 18s: TAV, 1st Alliance, KC Power, Triangle, Vision, and NKYVC.

Mintonette, Metro, ROCKC
Academy, Coast, NPJ
I could be wrong but I think that only Mintonette has a bid so far...

Interesting NKYVC lost to a team in the silver finals that was playing USA two weeks ago. Obviously you are not aware of NKYVC’s dual sport athlete situation. Performance at tournaments varies over the last three years as during BB season the roster with key players will vary extensively. For example, last year they won Triple Crown the next tournament they fell off the face of the earth. Dynasty was in the same boat last year as well with Sky playing BB. It happens but to be expected with rosters drastically changing in 18’s. |

I just assumed they were missing people that didnt play 18s at all from last year. |

Hey you threw their name with a solid group of teams that I know have been performing, I dont think any of the others have underperformed to this point have they? I couldnt name you one player from NKYVC but when you mention them with TAV Black and KC Power I assumed they would be on the same level. How about instead of attacking me you explain why that is. I am real familiar with the team that beat them in the silver finals and this was their first open tournament, ever. |

After watching a couple of the qualifiers live, here are my top teams at 18s: TAV, 1st Alliance, KC Power, Triangle, Vision, and NKYVC. I know this is geared towards 17s and 18s but I’ve got a 16s player too. Any thoughts on that age group as we start up our season? 16s is a stacked age group. I haven’t seen anyone outside of the Midwest so far this year, but the usual suspects around here are all still really good. NKYVC won 16 Open at CZI, beating Elevation in the finals. Elevation beat Mintonette in the semis. NKYVC beat TVC (Toledo) on the other side. TVC took out Legacy in the first round of gold. I have no idea if TVC is a real contender now or just had some fortunate breaks. I’ll say they’ve been pretty good at 14s and 15s and were maybe just a couple players from being in the next tier. Did they find those players for 16s year? Mintonette and Elevation were both without key players this weekend (Cugino for Mintonette and Grimes for Elevation). Elevation also lost setter Kirlin in the first set of the finals against NKYVC which explains the scores of 23-25, 25-11, 15-6. Other consistent teams in this age group, Boiler Jrs lost to NKYVC in quarters, and Team Pineapple lost to Team Indiana in the first round of Gold. |
