Agreed, but I’m sure not an easy task. No doubt many of these clubs 2s teams are stronger than smaller clubs 1s but isn’t always the case. For example 17s..WAVE 1s always in Power Pool but aren’t strong and once in a PP you’re sitting pretty. They won maybe 2 matches but got their 2s team in the tourney but don’t think they won a match last year (16s). Admittedly, a strong club overall. I’d prefer they call some of these clubs bluff. Another item I saw this year is teams playing TC events but have no business in NIT. Muscle Volleyball..where would they be in the DFW pecking order? Obviously I’m too familiar with this age group.. whining over Agreed. I had never heard of Muscle VB until a couple of weeks ago and we've been in DFW for years (they are currently 9th in NTR.) Are they just trying to fill slots? There are 120 teams in 17s and looks like they are a 4 seed in a Challenge pool, so not sure they were necessarily favored over too many? The NT Region is very good, so maybe they gave them a nod based on that current region ranking?

It is politics at work and that is unfortunate.

It is politics at work and that is unfortunate. If that is the case, then very unfortunate for sure. Does anyone know how many teams are on the waitlist to enter?

As it is "invite only", i suspect that would be tough to ever get such a list.

It is politics at work and that is unfortunate. I'm sure this plays a role. I also can't imagine how difficult it is to put on a tournament like this, much less a series of them like NIT does. Obviously they need to fill spots and have a full tournament along with trying to keep it as an exclusive feeling tournament. Having watched from a far and having never been, I think they've done a good job. There's never going to be a perfect tournament with all the "right teams" playing in it. I can speak to this topic as a parent on a team that is going this year for the first time, and we feel very lucky and are grateful for the invite. We come from a state that is far behind in volleyball skills compared to the rest of the country, but we do have girls that need exposure to colleges, experience the speed of the game, and are athletically right in the mix with most teams I've seen. We don't expect to win a whole lot, but hope to be competitive. We do have (2) 2025 girls verbally committed to Big 12 and Big 10 schools....as a result of attending qualifier tournaments. I'm guessing that may have been a criteria that was considered for our invite. If we were a really good team that wasn't invited, I would think this a good time to try and qualify at a qualifier tournament with so many of the top teams attending NIT. Maybe there aren't any this same weekend?

oh, I imagine VERY difficult.
On another note, congrats to the team and enjoy. The real fun is 16s year but still will be a blast. You guys must be doing something right with those commmits!

Maybe there aren't any this same weekend? There is one 18s qualifier this weekend in Dallas. The first qualifier for 17s and younger isn't until March.

I believe this is the first year HPSTL is attending TC, and they are in Power Pools at 14s, 15s, and 17s. They have the results to warrant it. Sounds like Paramount is definitely on the rise, but they haven’t been on the right podiums yet. Like I said earlier, if they’re good, they’ll be right where they want to be on Day 2 and Day 3. It is not the first year for HPSTL We played them last year at Triple Crown. I stand corrected. However, they did not have their 13s or 14s in KC last year. Their 14s and 15s are both in Power Pools this year. My point remains that it’s a lot more about results from the specific events TC listed than it is about wether or not your club has been there before. My bigger point also remains, the cream will rise to the top regardless of seeding or power pools.

Bids from Sunshine 17 Open Arizona Storm / AZ Sky / Dallas Skyline I just looked at the scores in the gold bracket! Arizona Storm must be something special. Beat TAV 25-14;25-14 and then championship 25-18;25-16. Pretty dominant wins.
