#1, #3, #6, and #9 could all be in the same pool. Right now, that would be Turkey, Brazil, China, and Japan. With that setup, the other 2 pools could look like this: A: France, Italy, Dominican Republic, Kenya. C: USA, Serbia, Poland, Netherlands. if this happened USA wouldn’t even make it out of pools

I can’t wait for China to field a new team of players you’ve never heard of that shakes your S Tier to life on the D list. China is due. I wouldn’t be mad. I hope they drag Turkey well, as long as vargas remains out of commission...

14 players, even if you can only suit 12 a match, would be awesome. But mostly I'm still upset about the Olympic format. I really liked the 5 match preliminary round. Now it's only 3? So bleh. 8/12 teams will play 4 or less matches in the Olympics. It's a once in a 4 year event.[/quote] Ugh, I didn’t know that…

I really don't like this three-pool format. I hope they reverse it back to the previous format.

I think we should know before the OG roster deadline if Poulter is ready or not. you don’t think if Poulter is “close” that Karch would take that risk? I feel like he would If he takes Poulter my bet is he takes a 3rd setter as the 13th player just in case. What do you all see as the roster?

What do you all see as the roster? if I had to guess right now Kelsey/Larson/Frantti/Plummer Ogbogu/Washington/Rettke Thompson/Drews Carlini/Hancock (barring any major Poulter update) JWO Avery Skinner, Lanier, Hentz, and O’Neal could fight for spots but they seem more likely to be aiming for reserves tbh. Plummer and Washington probably the most at risk of their spot being taken, minus again if Poulter is magically healthy and in good form.

Kind of wild I don't see there being a consistent terminator on any pin if the expected trio of Kelsey/Larson/Thompson starts. That is, unless Thompson can return to Tokyo form (I hope she does!) Passing will be great, but at the end of the day you need SOMEONE to take out the trash

Haleigh vs Asjia is gonna be my favorite position battle I think. both have good serves and both can run the slide. Haleigh has a lot more experience but Asjia’s blocking was lowkey better than Haleigh’s last summer and she got even better this season. i was gonna say Asjia can play either middle spot but so can Dana so that shouldn’t matter too much. Asjia would obviously be the upset pick but if she has a strong blocking performance at the VNL, I would hope we take her unless Haleigh is just unstoppable on offense

I don't think she's playing at the level of Vargas/Egonu/Bosko, who I understand will be USA's main threats. And it doesn't seem likely we'll make up the difference with our OH's offense. Hope I'm wrong though!
