Does Villanova have a chance to make the NCAA tournament without getting wins against Marquette/Creighton?

Does Villanova have a chance to make the NCAA tournament without getting wins against Marquette/Creighton? I dont think any BEast team does. Maybe if UConn runs the table (they're borderline Top 50 right now I Think) but I dont think they even have a top 50 win.

There's always the auto bid via conference tourney, but that's in Creighton's home gym, so eh. UConn's non-conference schedule was garbage and their best wins are Stony Brook (123) and Dartmouth (127), then New Hampshire (202). (Today's RPI). I'm glad they went undefeated against it, but that scheduling could hurt if they make to the bubble.

Does Villanova have a chance to make the NCAA tournament without getting wins against Marquette/Creighton? I'm going to flat out say no.

So I did some more digging. And here’s each team’s situation on the unofficial RPI:
UConn is #62 right now and is 0-1 against top 25 opponents and 0-2 against top 50 opponents.
Villanova is #75 and is 0-1 against top 50 opponents.
I think an upset win over one of the top 2 can put UConn on the bubble (maybe?). I don’t know if one win would be enough for Nova.
I will say though that right now, Nova’s opponents’ record is better than UConn’s so as the season progresses, that might give their RPI a boost.

They don't play MU or CU again in regular season.

UConn already played their regular season match against both Marquette and Creighton, and got swept by both. Big East, as noted earlier, does not do a true double round robin any longer. So, better make the Big East tournament to get that upset. I have my doubts UConn will make it to Omaha still. Villanova does have 2 chances against Creighton and 2 chances against Marquette. I just don't think it's very likely they get even one of those. Marquette's record doesn't look great, but they challenged themselves in the non-conference (consistent with past several years). I don't understand how St. John's offed Marquette two out of three last year, but I really don't think Marquette should lose to anybody in the BE besides Creighton this year. But it probably will happen.

I’d like to see the conference have 3-4 teams get into the tournament but it’s probably unlikely this year. Nova gets both Creighton and Marquette at home this weekend so we won’t need to wait long to find out.

In the brief time I've been following the BEast, I haven't really seen a 3rd team that should've made the dance let alone a 4th. Strong argument could've been made for St. John's last year, but this is still a two-team conference, and this year Creighton is on a level all by themselves.

I still think the Big East is missing out. It's sill a relatively small conference at 11 teams and volleyball is also relatively cheap compared to some other sports (uniform, balls, no equipment for the sport). So, if two more programs just put a bit more emphasis on the sport, I think, Big East could be a really, really good conference that doesn't hurt you. Hypothetically, you'd be moving from 18.2% to 36.4% of the conference being in the tournament regularly. I think St. John's could be the third program, but consistency from year to year seems to be an issue there. Not sure who would be or could be the fourth program to step it up a bit, and don't honestly care who it is, as long as some one does.
