It's funny how vly4life sees Hawaii with a winning record, and does not see Southern Cal with a losing record. I am not trying to knock on SC but just pointing out that some "trolls" as someone had called vly would only criticize Hawaii's ranking and not look at the others.
FWIW, as everybody here knows, the NCAA committee does not look at the ranking when they seed teams for the NCAA. Heck, there was even a time that a top 25 team was not invited to the dance.

I think Purdue should have beaten PSU and Wisconsin. Going into this season, I thought they'd be darn good; A Big Ten championship contender nonetheless, but they disappoint me a little. They do have all their starters back from 2004 right?
Wischmeier, Dargan, Jaques, and their Libero were all formidibble(sp?) at the end of last year.

Purdue lost three starters from last year, if I am not mistaken: Kim McConaha, a middle who was their strongest hitter, in my opinion, their libero Daren Poe, a very good passer from what I saw of her last year, and Kim Cappa, an outside hitter. They also lost Wischmeier before the start of Big Ten play. Thus, they are relying on a lot of freshmen. Mastandrea (the libero) played some last year as a DS, I think, and also as the libero when Poe was hurt. Tough start for them in the conference, though. I was surprised they went five at PSU, but also by the fact that they lost to OSU. As for the Wisconsin match, I am still very pleased that the Badgers managed to steal one and win it. Also, I doubt Wisconsin loses another 30-14 game this season.

Oh shoot never mind then; that settles all "promises" I saw for that team this year. Yeah, I know granted Dargan, Jaques are good, the other aforementioned made them even better. Purdue won't win the Big Ten like I thought. Top 5 potential though.

hawaii does have a winning record - they have more wins than losses -- i am just so happy that florida is way above wisconsin since those 'women' badgers are so overrated

Mastandrea (the libero) played some last year as a DS, I think, and also as the libero when Poe was hurt. Mastandrea played L against Georgia Tech and Missouri last year. I think she was even named MVP of that tournament. Therefore, she can be very, very good. I liked Daren Poe a lot (I saw her at the Wisconsin match). She was steady, but not flashy. She didn't have Mastandrea's range on the floor, but as I told her, if she had been the L for USC, they wouldn't have lost to Illinois (OTOH, the USC L was a lot better against Nebraska). The big loss from last year (before Wischmeier went down) was McConaha. However, Lynch is very good (game 1 Sunday notwithstanding), so Kim M is not missed as much as she could be. As for Cappa, I like Kim a lot personally, but there is no comparison between KC and Danita Merlau. Until Wischmeier went down, that was by far the biggest difference between last year and this year, and it was significantly for the better.
