Down 10-5 in 5th, still not subbing? They are playing their non-conference matches to develop. Gauchos are way out of contention for an at large. Everyone on the court tonight could easily be a starter next week or by end of season and except for the setter has been this year or in their career. Daemon played a great match and earned that win. Gauchos didn't walk away with nothing, the team learned some good things and got some good game reps. |

Nobody lost their spot. Pretty much all back ups playing for UCSB. Coordt/Kane Meister/Johnson Barnett/Baglio Glenn I don't think backups is a good description. It wasn't the top 6+1 on the floor tonight but if you put the bench tonight on the other side of the net, I am not sure who would win. Kane and Meister have been part of some good starting team performances this year. Both went off against UCLA. Barnett is back from injury and was an expected starter coming into this year and was good tonight. Coordt also an expected big part of the team has been struggling this year but had one of his better matches. I would have loved a win but getting Barnett and Coordt going at their potential to use for the rest of the season is better. I hope it happens. |
