This topic has been spilt up on a few threads and has become hot since the "Dorn Incident" that was SD @ Omaha, so I thought I'd create a new one.
I did some digging into the broadcasts we've had so far.
Game 1: ATL @ Omaha.
Had 2 different productions. One was originally scheduled for Stadium, the other was on News Channel Nebraska (NCN)
The one on YouTube was what was supposed to be on Stadium and featured Jake Herman & Emily Ehman. NCN had John Baylor & Nancy Metcalf. I was unable to watch the NCN broadcast as I had to start watching after the game had started, but I assume they used their own graphics package (see game 5)
Game 2: CBUS @ GR.
Also had 2 different productions. One was also originally scheduled for Stadium, the other was on WXSP.
The one on YouTube was originally going to be on Stadium and featured Brett Loftis and Elena Shklyar. "The X" had Dan Hasty & Katie Olsen (not the one from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") and used a different graphics package.
Game 3: ATL @ Orl.
Was originally scheduled for the "Bally Live" App (BL)
This did not have a local telecast scheduled. The stream was essentially the scoreboard big-screen feed with the same graphics package as the "Stadium" productions. Sean Davidson and Madison Fitzpatrick on the call.
Game 4: SD @ ATL.
Was originally going to be on Stadium. No local telecast scheduled.
Brett Loftis and Kele Eveland.
Game 5: "The Dorn Incident" SD @ Omaha.
Was original scheduled for the BL App and NCN. It featured a different graphics package from all of the other games on YouTube. I assume it was the same graphics used on the NCN version of game 1. John Baylor and Tonia Tauke Dorn (the controversy). The stream was extremely glitchy on YouTube. The NCN website, facebook stream and Roku app were more stable, but ran about 1-2 minutes of buffer
My conclusion is that PVF had 0 involvement in the production of Game 5. I am uncertain of the Supernovas involvement in the production of NCN's game, but the lack of the graphics package provides a clue. I also don't know why Metcalf wasn't on color for Game 5. The press release for NCN's coverage of Game 5 and 6 only mention Baylor as the Play-by-Play
Another assumption is that scoreboard feed games are produced by the teams/arenas.
A third: Bally Live games will always be the local telecast or the scoreboard feed.
Up Next:
