This should be very interesting. I expect it might go to 5 with a few blowout games (low 20's for the losing side).
Hope Stanford can come through. It will come down to passing and blocking for Stanford to win. Just don't hit towards Candace Lee.
Any thoughts on the match?

I think UDub will win, but we will probably lose a game, maybe even two.
I am glad that it is still fairly early in the year as I think UDub has gelled nicely and Stanford is still figuring who they are and are getting better. I think, right now, the Huskies are the better team but Stanford has more upside potential. The next meeting is in Seattle and I think UDub will win partly due to HCA (which can be substantial in this series), but if there is a third meeting on a neutral court (say, the Alamodome) then all bets are off.

If Washington wins the first game, it will be a sweep and one of the games will be at least 30-20 UW or worse......... Stanford will be lucky to get a game off the Huskies....... I've seen both teams on tape this year and Washington simply........ passes better, blocks better, hits better, has a much better libero, has a better setter, serves tougher & has better senior leadership....... Other than that, the teams are pretty even

If Stanford wins, they move up to #2 in the AVCA poll, switching places with Washington.
If Washington wins, no change in the status quo at least with the top 4 teams I would think.

Penn State is at Wisconsin on saturday night. I am hoping that will change the status quo with the top four.

I'd sure like to see these matches (UW/Stanford & Penn St./WI) on TV! I looked around and couldn't find anything stating that they would be, does anyone know if they will? Thanks!

Washington does seem to be unbeatable but hey look at last year, we came back from 11 match points down to win!!! --------------------- gostanford.collegesports.com/sports/w-volley/spec-rel/100405aab.htmlThe Cardinal holds a 39-5 lead over the Washington Huskies ... Last year at Stanford's Burnham Pavilion, the Cardinal battled back from eleven match points, and a 2-0 game deficit to score a 28-30, 11-30, 30-27, 34-32, 20-18 victory over the Huskies ... The two teams later met in the semfinals of the NCAA Final Four and the Cardinal came way with a hard-fought 3-1 victory.

I remember listening in on this match last year and that 2nd set was tough to bear, but bear Stanford did and I'm glad I decided stick around because that was an unreal match and definitely could have swung either way, but momentum carried Stanford and some!

I would not be surprised to see Stanford pull off an upset, if their hitters are connecting well.

The Huskies need to dominate Stanford and deliver a message. Barboza and Foluke need to be reminded they are freshmen.
Washington volleyball needs to recapture the swagger lost by Washington football.
But Stanford is Stanford even if all they got are freshmen. ;D

Washington will deliver a real messge to the Stanford team I predict! CB will do her usual choke in the big matches routine! Can't wait to see this match!
