And, BSU is working in so many new pieces this year, Mr T was not available for the first handful of matches, So they are a team that could do some damage later in the season if all those pieces start humming along. How do you think they do the remainder of the season? Vanis Buckholz went out with an injury right when Mr. T came back. Those 2 have barely shared the court this year, and they are 2 of the best in the country at their respective positions. I like that staff and nothing on the resume suggests Donan will keep losing. I think once those 2 are back on the court together and the Freshmen setter and rightside continue to develop, they'll definitely be in the conversation.

Ball State has already played 16 matches! At 9-7 their only good win so far was against Loyola. And, BSU is working in so many new pieces this year, Mr T was not available for the first handful of matches, So they are a team that could do some damage later in the season if all those pieces start humming along. why was that? I still cant find a reason online. I asked Jeeves and everything.

I'm thinking there will be plenty more surprises this year in the MIVA and on until the NCAA field expands to 12. OSU running the table and then losing a close MIVA Tourney final match is the only possible scenario of an at-large coming out of the conference, and even that would be iffy. It all boils down to the MIVA tourney. I know seeding matters, but at the end of the day, it's whoever gets hot that week in April among OSU, Loyola, Ball State, and maybe Lewis. Until then, coaches have 2 months to tinker away and find that groove.

More parity in the MIVA Lewis falls to Lindenwood in 4 on Strong serving. Lindenwood is a dark horse this year.

Loyola wins in 4, too big and too consistent for Ball State. It helps that Buckholz is back, but Ball St is still working thru finding the right lineup

More parity in the MIVA Lewis falls to Lindenwood in 4 on Strong serving. Lindenwood is a dark horse this year. AJ Lewis had a match. 7 SA! He was not good when they played Lewis a few weeks back but he has been playing great since.

BSU takes down Loyola again in Chicago without their star middle Vanis Buckholz who is still nursing a knee injury despite playing the entire match Thursday against Purdue Fort Wayne. Look for Buckholz to return to the line-up this weekend. 6’10” freshman Will Patterson started in Buckholz place and held his own in the Cardinals 3-2 victory over an excellent Loyola team that has already defeated Ohio State, Hawaii and Lewis this season.

Interesting...
"The field will also re-seed. The highest remaining seed will host the lowest remaining seed and the other two teams will play in the other semifinal. The two winning teams will play in the final match for the Don Shondell MIVA Championship Trophy."

Loyola 2-0 vs Ohio State and Ball State 2-0 vs Loyola. If Ball State can manage a split vs OSU, they should be in the driver seat to host the MIVA tourney. BSU still with 2 against Lewis and I can see them jumping up and biting them for one. Interested to know what the tie break scenario is if they finish with same record and go 1-1 head-to-head.

With the Lewis guys going to Hawaii and playing GCU - it will be the 3rd time this season they face the #1 team in the nation. They'll be facing #1, #3, #5 should be fun. The GCU vs Hawaii match will be epic - sold out for sure
