I think Louis will be a serving target. He hasn't played significant time against better teams with high level serving yet. Just a hunch but I saw Henno going right at him which makes me think Henno knows something that the rest of the league is going to find out soon if Louis get full time start duties. He most def will be the main serving target. If I had to guess....it's both Louis and Roure that most likely takes the reigns next season after Spyros and Chaz are gone. I say give Louis those in game reps now at the pin and let him learn and grow. Cause regardless of what happens....we lose all 3 pins next season and need someone with in game reps to help lead such a young young group in 2025. But if I had to guess who Charlie puts in there in place of Spyros...it's gonna be Thiim. Is Roure a firm commit for Hawaii?

Of course it's a gamble cause he didn't sign yet. But I trust Koa for years with his recruiting insider info for years. And he hasn't been wrong yet. Crossing my fingers though cause I do recognize its still a long ways till he potentially can and will sign for us. And anything can happen from now until then.

Kurt please refrain from screaming across the net and Tread won’t keep on pushing you away from it.

Right after Hawaii won, Tread ran to Spyros before coming back to team huddle before handshakes. That alone shows you what kind of person he is.

If only Kai Rodriguez stuck it out a little longer he probably would have had his chance at playing time now. Goes to show you’re just an injury away and anything can happen. Definitely need to have someone step up and fill in for Spyros just so we have a chance at saving our season and post season hopes. On a side note, we won’t win these close matches down the road with how shaky our serve receive and passing is. As much as I support local players not sure Choy is ready to be that guy. You can see the difference between liberos from him versus our opponents this past weekend.

He might not be Cole Power or even Mason Briggs but gotta hand it to the young man for giving his all day after day. Matthew Wheels comes into the program next season and he is a good one. We see what happens but Eleu is trying his best and that's all we can ask for rn.

Looking at the PDF - Who the hell was playing on the right for UCI?
If Flexen can come back healthy and play at Opp for Irvine, I think they have as good a chance as anyone at winning the BWC

They brought in Kiriakou for Joe in row 1. It was Henno and the middles with Akhil mixed in. Predictable offense but so well executed.

It was well executed because with both Shewie and Karlous on the court....with Tangatur and Power back there.....they were able to pass nails and play spectacular defense. Hawaii wasn't ready for it and the UH coaching staff admitted that during the broadcast to Ryan Kalei Tsuji in a timeout. I think with Spyros out....that definitely will be a major challenge Hawaii will have to overcome for sure. Who steps up? Thiim? Sakanoko? Not sure. But, Chakas not on the floor will be immediately felt. We see if Hawaii can weather and or surpass this storm.

He’s shown the capability to be more offensive, now is your time Chaz!!!

In fact, all 3 seniors on that court (Voss, Todd, Chaz) need to gather this team together to lead them. Spyros was the vocal leader on that court and we are gonna need those guys to step up even more as I know they can and are.

Disregarding the injury, I think UH should be concerned that they barely got by UCI with two setters having to play opposite. Yes, it was weird and they had to change blocking schemes but it was a huge advantage for UH

Disregarding the injury, I think UH should be concerned that they barely got by UCI with two setters having to play opposite. Yes, it was weird and they had to change blocking schemes but it was a huge advantage for UH UCI is ranked #5. LBSU barely squeaked by #19 UCSB and then almost came into a full on fist fight. Now which game was really more concerning if we wanna go there? Lol Both setters at opposite wasn't more for their ability to hit rather than their abilities to play defense and pass. That was the emphasis and why I believe Kniffin went for that lineup. Which as we all know Sheward being Hawaii's former libero had 22 digs that night. When you can pass and dig balls that normally go down...and Henno plays out of this world....you have a chance don't matter who the hell you are and who they have up front at the net. But through all that....they still prevailed. With what went on with Chakas....we will take it.
